Unattractive female leader is a good replacement for unattractive Chloe. I didn't really feel "hooked" by the show, but I'll give it a couple more episodes maybe.

Hey at least Edgar Stiles' cousin is ok. :D And bring back Cuthbert. Yes I said it.

It was....OK. Not great, not "Must Watch!", but OK.

I never watched the original 24. NOT a fan of Kiefer Sutherland, so I have no reference to that show.

We'll see how this one goes.

I was VERY disappointed that at the end of the episode last night when the main guy was trapped we didn't get a "DAMNIT" or anything.

So far the show is just okay. It's not good it's not great. It's got terrible acting with the same old over the top plot where apparently they do no vetting in CTU or on the political parties. I just don't care about any of the characters. Hell I don't even know the main guy's name still after 2 episodes. I just keep calling him Dr. Dre.

This has been good enough for me to keep watching. 12 episodes is probably perfect for this run.

Oh, it's only 12 episodes again? I'll probably watch it, I guess. haven't watched episode 2 yet, though.

But even that Live Another Day or whatever 12 episode thing with Jack Bauer was hard to watch after about episode 5. I think I got around to finishing the final 3 episodes some months after it was done. 24 episodes was never a problem for me, but as I've mentioned before--the formula was just stale and boring by then.

Same here; man when I first go into 24 around 2005-2006, I could sit and watch episodes all fucking day (which I did, I was in college at the time). That continued for a while, until season 6 probably but yeah that last season was tough to finish.

12 episodes at an hour each doesn't add up to 24 even using Hollywood math. Doesn't matter, I watched the first episode and won't be going back for more. Really really meh.

You should be a college math professor with those skills.

Thanks. Helps having 12 toes and 12 fingers, I can get all the way up to 24 without needing a calculator.

If the concept of the show is a single chain of events taking place in a single day and it's titled 24, then maybe there should be 24 hour long episodes. If they want to consolidate things to a 12 hour period that's fine, but then it shouldn't be named 24.

Used to be 24 episodes and all happening in a day but peoples' attention spans over the last couple years have gotten worse.

Ok just finished watching second episode - I feel like Fox wants this to fail. DVR recorded mostly after-game Super Bowl for episode 1 and episode 2 for whatever reason only recorded 30 seconds. Had to watch it online.

As a huge 24 (Kiefer) fan, it was alright. Not exactly a ringing endorsement, but not the worst show on tv.

Episode 1 was full of nostalgic idiotic 24 moments...

* OMG I need to hide my wife... yes there are motels everywhere, but let's go to my gang leader brother and 30 of his friends. They all seem like honorable folk who wouldn't sell her out. And I probably shouldn't be concerned with the scowl that one chick is giving my wife, right?

* Go to train station. Walk 200 yards. Enter garage. Go to other garage. Walk another 200 yards. BAD GUYS! BOOM! BANG! How the fuck did they find them in that garage? All they knew is the guy was supposed to be at the train station to meet his sister/mom.

* Army Ranger whose entire squad is wiped out by evil terrorists... fuck it, they don't seem so bad, I'll just sell this shit to them!

This is the type of stuff that made me hate to love the original 24.

Can't get into this one. Just can't get over the main character. He was terrible in TWD, was a whiny punk bitch and that bleeds over to this show for me. Fair or not, just how it is.

I don't recall this guy in TWD--though I don't think I watched the most recent ~2 seasons.

I thought he was awesome as Dr Dre, though.

Yeah I had to imdb that to be sure he didn't make a mistake. I stopped watching TWD at season 3 so I never saw him. I thought he was terrible as Dr. Dre, he's just a really bad actor. That scene where his brother was murdered and he was fake crying was so painful to watch. I busted out laughing at that scene the first time I saw that movie lol.

He was in the last few seasons. Part of a side group, no real back story. Just not very good acting, piss poor character, and no conclusion to him. One of my least favorite characters of the entire show. He was left somewhere (don't want to spoil) and never seen from again. I guess this show is why.

Probably not fair to carry that over, but hard not to. Like Denzel in training day, he's always been a good guy, hard to see as bad. He did a great job in the movie, still hard. This guy was a wimp in TWD, bitches and whines the whole time, hard to see as a badass now.

First 2 episodes are on tonight back to back, in case your PVR recordings got butchered by the superbowl game.
