So I went over to costco the other day and saw that they have two sets of monitors available. Samsung 24 inch (Don't know the model) And the Samsung 2770 HD.

Which would be better in terms of performance and display. The problem I think I may have with the 27 inch is that it might be too close since I sit like 4-5 feet away from my monitor. Both of the monitor's max resolution is 1920x1080 so I can see that the 27 inch won't offer many more screen real estate than the 24 inch.

I have a 5670 1 gig ddr 5 video card so I don't know if I would be able to handle the 27 inch monitor in terms of gaming.

What do you guys think?

I'd take the 27". A 24" I might justify over the extra size if it were 1920x1200, but both use a crappy 16:9 resolution.

I love my 26" KDS LCD screens. Bigger is generally better. I sit probably two feet or less away from my screen.

If the resolution is the same it won't make any difference to the graphics card because it has to push the same number of pixels for both monitors. The 1gb vram on that graphics card is made for that resolution, so it shouldn't be a problem. However, it is kinda wimpy as graphics cards go for gaming.
