24/7 Enterprise similar type HDD for Desktops ?

Hi guys, what hdd (brand/model) would you recommend for a comp that needs to be on 24/7 besides the obvious RAID configs, SCSI drives or raptors.

Preferbably >200gig 7200rpms ones, that provides lasting performance, runs cool, noise levels etc.... performance would not be a main issue here but would be great. Heard lots of reviews about the WD4000YR/KD's any users here to comment?

Thx 4 the help guys.
So i guess i'll go with seagate NL35 then. Btw is it advisable to have both SATA and PATA disk running on the same channel
eg. primary master/slave or seperate primary master secondary master ?

THey dont run n the same chanell, all SATA ports are serial point to point connections, while PATA are a parralell master/slave type config. Putting 2 PATA drives on the same chanell is not recomended as they will be slow, and i mean really slow.

can someone explain this enterprise raid thing for me? I was planning to buy an adatpec 2810sa sata controller. I called adaptec today and asked about requirements, and they said I should only use enterprise grade hard drives. I was planning to use my 6 seagate barracuda st3300831as 300gb sata drives. I was planning to do a raid 5 media storage. Any input on this would be very much appreciated 🙂

Wrong. The combined data transfer rate for my two PATA drives on the same channel is ~90MB/sec when reading/writing to each other.
