235w sparkle psu for my friend's 950mhz duron rig?

spanky

do u think that psu will do the job? its going to have a cd-rom, cd-rw, 1 hard drive, ecs k7s5a, & radeon le. think he's nuts?

I had a friend that had a problem trying to run the ECS K7S5A and Tbird 1.2 on a 250W PSU. He needed at least 300W so I would say that it is risky and may not work.

<< do durons require as much juice as athlons? >>

Honeslty I'm not sure, but how much does that video card require?

thats a good question. 😛 well maybe i will take the 235w psu and put it in my 700mhz duron rig and give his 950 duron my 300w psu. if worse comes to worse...i'll have to hit up the FS/FT forums for a psu 😀

It might, I am running about the same setup on my computer at home, except its a no name 250w. The main thing with the ecs is the quality of the powersupply not the wattage.

It might just work. My setup is the same.. and is different at the same time.

I got:
Athlon XP 1700+ OCed@ 1800+ 138FSB 11x
MSI K7T Turbo LE
3Dfx Voodoo 3 2000
1 52X LG CDrom
1 16X Yamaha CDRW
1 Maxtor 20.4g 7200 HDD
1 Maxtor 61.4g 5400 HDD

and i'm using a generic 250w psu and everything runs fine

I'm running a 1700xp at 138 fsb with gainward ti 500 card and the sparkle 235 watt. Great power supply!
