It's been a while since I booted up Oblivion, but what I think you need to do is have the Grass render distance greater than your view distance.

This way it should be rendered before you see it and hopefully fix your issue.

Yeah try looking in its .cfg files and whatnot and tweaking the grass draw distance and whatnot from there. There are also tons of graphical mods for Oblivion that make it look a lot better which you might try to see if they fix that, I'm also sure there are now tons of unofficial patches on those mod sites that fix numerous bugs

Not sure what is causing that. I get the occasional texture pop here and there but nothing close to that. Also do a search for a 4gb memory patch if you're running on a system with at least 4gb memory. Not saying that is a fix but just for improve memory usage.

I've been playing Oblivian for quite some time (Win 7 64) with unofficial patch and a few texture mods. I do not have that problem at all. I have self shadows,shadows on grass, tree canopy set to off.Shadow filter on higher. HDR off and 4x anti aliasing. There are several forums (Oblivian Nexus, for one) you can look at...just do a search. Also, don't know if it matters, but I have the DVD GOTY version, not Steam.

Strange I installed it last night and use ATI 5870's in crossfire, no driver updates in about a year.. (ya i know, if it works I don't break it with new drivers) i just used the dfualt settings and its not happening to me (keep in mind it was installed before and removed it may be pulling old configs and i suspect it is) I had no mods installed. I know that dont help.. "mines not doing it" is worthless.. but I suspect its maybe a limitation or issue with your video card? I do have some random pop um here and there, but not sweeping grass like that.

I've heard of grass issues in the past, especially with cards that released closer to the original launch date of TESIV. Have you considered using a lower-poly count grass model?

There's a command that completely disables grass, but I can't remember it offhand, "tg"???

Are you using an Nvidia or AMD GPU?

AMD GPU (5870m on a ROG laptop) and no blue pixels. I definitely recommend the unofficial patches, as there are quite a few bugs in the game that absolutely need fixing. Also you might want to check out info on USEP Wiki. And one small mod to replace the clunky interface and graphic fonts is Darnifield UI. Makes it a lot easier to see items in your inventory and leveling stats.
