here are my system specs:

2500+ slk-800
2x512mb pc3500
abit nf7-s (nfII ultra400)
antec 550 true control

parts i've tryed:
asus a7n8x deluxe 2.0
dfi lanparty nfII ultra
antec 480

this is really odd (i'm now thinking my cpu is going out on me)
but I was able to boot at 235fsb after updating to the antec 550 earlier today (222 fully stable)
now it seem that i can't even get 202 stable
the max I could boot with my 480 was 230 and the max fully stable was 208
(all sync mem/fsb)

i am now at 166x10.5=1743 till i get things situated

So i'm hoping it's not my memory at all costs
If it is my cpu or motherboard I will prob end up buying a new one

what do you guys think ??

i'll be trying one mem module at a time again while you all have a chance to read this

also I used to be able to get over 2.2ghz fully stable at default voltage
now i can't get my cpu to anything over 2.2 with any voltages
the max voltage i've given this cpu since i've gotten it has been 1.825

ok i just tryed both memory modules individually
neither would do 220fsb stable

it must be the cpu or the motherboard

bla

what do you all think ??

i forgot which forum it was but it's interesting

if you do the L12 mod to your chip which sets your barton to default at 133 mhz fsb instead of 166 mhz fsb you maybe able to push the chip to higher fsb's....

i don't remember which forum it was where they have the sticky.. try the amdmb.com forum... i think it's stickied there...

xtreme

n/m it was xtreme .. check the thread out!

yeah i've done that mod
it didn't have any effect on overclocked fsb speeds
the only way i could see that effecting an overclocked fsb would be if there was an error in the bios code
yeah i've read that whole thread
good thread tho

thanks

no i'm not

it wouldn't load windows at that speed and yesterday afternoon it wouldn't even load 220

now i can't even get 166fsb with 200mhz mem speed at default proc speed
it just gets worse every day

bla
i damaged something

I will not stop till i'm happy at any cost........

i'll keep you all updated

My gut tells me I think it is the mobo...I have seen more ppl with amd chips buring out the mobos before these actual chips...

By the way what vcore were you running?? I remember in the past you liked to run chips at +2.0v and burn them up!!!

May be a silly question, but have your ambient temps risen? Or has anything contributed to an increase in heat of some component? I'm just asking as i can see no logical reason why your rig can't do the speeds it did previously with exactly the same component parts. It's an X-File... (cue scary music). :D:beer:

yeah I got custom copper active cooling on both the NB and the SB
i've got the vdimm and vdd mods in place

i have tryed vcore's between 1.625v and 1.825v

yes abmient temps have risen a few degrees and my chipset/cpu temps have risen as a result
that might just be it

i have also pushed vdimm and vdd voltages to high levels in attempts to reach stability so lets hope the mem and/or chipset isn't damaged

btw chipset temps are at 26c now and were at 30c a few hours ago
39c proc and over 44c earlier

maybe it is just room temps and i'm trippin but it cost me many mhz
difference between 2.3ghz with over 220fsb
and now i'm at stock speed for my barton 2500+ with 166fsb cause i couldn't even get 200 mem speed or 202 fsb stable with even 2ghz earlier at any votages

hot temps round here i guess

I might have to break out my watercooling system and pelts.........buy me a nb waterblock...... hmmm i'm sure i could get like 250fsb with 2.6ghz that way........heh maybe
