The 23 year old is my son, not me and so far he has found something for $750 but for six months only. And that's for the minimum liability.

Is this the norm?

Mine is about that much for the whole year and that comes with a lot more than the minimum.

I know that I get all sorts of credit for beeing with the same insuarnce co for a long time(foogie), clean record, no vices(except AT), and some other gunk that makes my premium lower. But what he is seeing is like 3 times worse than what I get. Is this what you young guys are getting too?

Thanks,
WW

it all depends on his car, his location, his credit, and his driving history.

You did try progressive? They are pretty adept at handling high risk cases.

Things to consider: AAA Discount (5%), Living with gf discount (same as married), multiple car discount.

Tell us more about situations, namely the above items.

btw, my 90 vw is 1700/yr for full coverage. i have no tickets, just live in the city :) i'm well over the 25 male age too :)

I was paying that rate a year ago when I was 22 with minimum coverage on an '89 accord (no accidents or anything). Young people as primary drivers pay a lot...

Emulex a 90 VW can't be worth that much why are you still paying full coverage on it?

I am 25 and have two cars both with liability only and pay around $700 a year before the age of 24 one car on liability cost about $1000.

<< ...progressive... >>

To tell you the truth I don't know hwere he's looked so far. I'm trying not to interfere too much. Ops!

<< ...AAA... >>

That's what I have. But from what I see the only discount that he can get is the non-smoking discount. I wonder if they have a bone with him chewing tobacco though... :)

Any other recomendations?

Thanks.

try:
1800-772-4AIS
Auto Insurance Specialists.

See what they come with.. unfortunatly your in LA, depending on teh car you drive, and the age group, you pay a lot.

With AIS we are paying boaut 2000/yr
that's 1200/yr for me (21) and my toyota.. with part access to the BMW.

Also try Gieco and Mercury, they are both good.

If you havent tried AAA, try them, they are the best. I am moving to AAA because we got a 200/yr quote lesser.

Auto insurance fluctates monthly..

its a 90 corrado g60 :) I've poured several thousand into the motor to make it fast, The cars are VERY expensive to repair front-end-sheet-metal wise. Cause only like 12,000 were imported into the states.
