What the hell? It's listed as 1080p and 16:9 ratio but says resolution is 1920 x 1200?

Specs directly from HP say it is 1920x1200. I think a lot of, ahem, less informed shoppers just automatically look for "1080p" as a high end resolution.

So, why is this sold as "new" but with a 90 day warranty?

Anyways, sounds like an awesome deal for the increasingly rare "not TN not 1080p" monitor. If I didn't already have way too many monitors, I'd get this.

ACK! I ordered without the free shipping code. $231.

So I called, and they replaced the order with the free shipping.

Woo-hoo!

I bought one when they originally came out some 7 years ago for $1,500. It's still my main monitor and going strong.

From anandtech review:

"L2335 does not support DVI-HDCP, so don't plan on watching video from your receiver on DVI just yet. Component connectors do work fine for this, however."

I ordered one, apparently, the free shipping is a rebate from freeshipping.com, where you have to join with a CC for a 30 day free trial, past that, it's $12 a month.

When I cancelled and re-ordered over the phone, I said I forgot to use my free shipping code, but I didn't give them the code. They re-did the order, she said I got free shipping. I just checked my CC - they charged 199.

I hope it is a good monitor :)

i used a DVI cable for my monitor ... what problems will this lack of HDCP cause?

BUMP!

Its back on sale for $209

Just so you guys know, I got this puppy back when Anandtech first reviewed it and I paid considerably more. Its an absolutely excellent monitor and given the price I am seriously tempted to buy a 2nd one just for fun.

Also, in case anyone is confused, in addition to having the normal VGA and DVI ports, you can also hook up component video and use it with your blu-ray player. But at 23 inches I think most of us would do better with a proper TV.

In case anyone was wondering, when it arrived it had no dead pixels and to this day still does not.

I bought this about a month ago when this deal was posted. I'm surprised this is considered a high quality S-IPS monitor. IMO, the picture quality is equivalent to the cheap ASUS I have next to it at home, but I believe it is not as good as the newer HP monitors I have at work. The stand and rotation is top notch. The buttons are cheap and "tinny"

The manufacturing date on the back is Sept 2007, so I assume this is the same S-IPS that got the rave reviews.

Just my opinions.

Will develop a pink tint around all edges of the screen, I wouldn't touch gaming with this monitor at least FPS-wise, ghosting had never looked worst. ( CS:S de_dust2, awp_india for a ghosting demo ).
