no replacments. I asked for refunds. Guess i'll just have to wait for another deal.
 
This is why I avoid refurb monitors period, you never know what you'll get. As far as geeks refurbs, I've had decent luck with them, only a handful of problem parts but their returns were rather easy.

That's the way they've been packing everything for a couple of ysears now. They used to use nice bubble wrap.

Only VGA and power cables included. Cosmetically, both stands are marred and on one, many wear marks. Both panels are LM230W02. One has Display Hours: 29052 and Backlight Hours: 5234 and has 0 dead pixel (edit: just dust) . The other has Display Hours: 6663 and Backlight Hours: 4822 and has 0 dead pixel. Both have HORRIBLE pink/reddish hue about 1 inch from the edge (edit: edge sounded better). I'm sending them back as the pink hue is not pleasant to the eyes.

Too bad. Otherwise a nice IPS panel. no dithering at all when i look at my pictures and no banding when viewing gradients.

Both panels have "dark" patches and are visible at all times.

Thanks for posting all that info. Saves others a lot of BS. I can't believe they'd sell crap like that.


 
I'm still wondering if anyone knows where you can get these new. Is that the real true model # of them, "2335"? I couldn't find anything on that. HP usually has another longer model # so it must be listed under that at other websites.
 
the bezel and the back of the monitor just say "2335" but hp calls it the "L2335"
it's a 2003 model, so i doubt you'll have any luck finding a new one.

if you specifically want/need an IPS panel, you're probably looking at $500ish for a 20" and $750+ for a 24" screen. all the less expensive monitors on the market are using TN or PVA/MVA panels 🙁

that's why this is a good deal IF you manage to get a good one. mine has just over 2000 backlight hours and looks way better than the ones chiu got. his pink looks like it covers 2/3 of his screen :brokenheart:

The model number is L2335 as ObiDon has mentioned. It has been replaced by the L2475.

Also, HP lists these as business monitors, so you need to go to their business website for info.

Thanks. Ah, a "W" on the end, I guess that's the trick. Well it comes as no surprise that they, like everyone else does, have replaced an older model with a newer one with far less features. For one it doesn't seem to have PiP like the 2335 has.
