Depends on the car and how much of that is parts vs labor. Offhand I would say it is reasonable.

This sounds pretty decent to me, not the cheapest I've seen but not outrageous either.

Pretty reasonable, parts themselves if you go oem can easily cost that much.

Last time I did front brakes for a 1996 Saturn SL2, parts cost about $140, adding 1.5hours of labor and $225 is a good price.

1/2 of that is just labor i bet

most of the time when you have car work dont at a garage its basically 75-125/hr for labor on anything.

myself, that is wayyyyyyyyyyy too much to spend on a front break job, but not everyone can do it themselves

That's reasonable.

$225 only gets a pair of rotors for mine. Pads are another $50. Of course your car and mine are on a totally different class.

Actually I'm more worried they may do a shoddy job based on that price. It's kind of too cheap. If I were to replace my own brake pads and rotors I think I would cost that much using even the cheapest pads and rotors. Are you sure they are replacing the rotors or are they just turning them.

Not that much labor involved in slapping on rotors and pads. Most of that cost is probably just the parts.

Not unreasonable at all.

You have three costs to consider: Parts, labor and of course, tax.

Call your local parts house and ask what the costs are for the rotors and pads. If the cost is over $100 then your quoted price is reasonable.

Labor rates here in the states can easily go $50 - $60 an hour.

It sounds reasonable to me ...
