you need to stop being afraid.

Who would have thought someone calling themselves miketheidiot would turn out to be a prophet. Seriously this is the best advice anyone can ever give. Well unless you are afraid to get into an elevator full of ravenous tigers, then the fear is good.

nah screw that, this is why I just carry these with me http://z.hubpages.com/u/20354_f260.jpg

teh tigers love me almost as much as the cougars do.

I had maybe the best 2 months in my life and the rest has been complete shit.. maybe not so much complete shit but the most boring months ever. But the other 2 make up for it.

It was the year that:

Showed me that if you give it a bit of effort, you can land yourself a real job making real money.

Made me realize my own mortality, and as such, showed me not to waste my life doing nothing.

I had my first kiss, but was to drunk and scared to enjoy it.

Taught me that a girl will take advantage of my feelings toward her and will toss me to the side once she is done.

Gave me responsibility.

I almost lost Mom.

Showed me what real stress is.

Taught me to enjoy life even when it seems so hard.

Today I turned 23, and the road to 24 looks to be just as rough.

...But I think I?m ready for it.

well DUH, it's the instantaneous force over the instantaneous area! 😛

Happy birthday!
You need to work on your fear of women though. You don't want to waste what should be the best years of your life.

Hey I just finished up the ol' 22 as well... pretty similar position except no first kiss and I'm leaning more toward girls are a waste of ... everything. Rode my bike 4200 miles around the country (lots to learn there), got my own apartment, first real (full-time, salaried) job, and... that's about it.

Your first kiss at 22? You loser.

I'm 26 now. 23 was one of the best year... everything just came together that year except for girls, I already had plenty of ass beforehand 😉 :

-Got my first corp job out of college + I was promoted in 7 months. This cleared my insecurity of attending a state college. As an asian, many of us often to go top tier schools and I was not one of them within my circle of friends. It was bore an insecurity on my mind at all times. But after securing a good job and also getting a promotion, I realized I could excel and succeed in anything as long as I put my back into it.

-The moment I secured my job, I also moved out. It felt great being an adult, my parents also started to look at me in different light.

-This is hard to articulate... this is the year I sort of came out of my shell among our friends. I'm usually one of those people who never plans a gathering/event. I always just went with the crowd. This year I learned to take leadership and organized bunch of hang-outs/trips/events where my friends joined and we all had great times. This gave me a HUGE confidence boost.

-I also went to Europe for the first time with my friends for 2 weeks. A great eye-opener.

-Also did some crazy shit as I was high on life. Did skydiving & class 5 white water rafting.

-I guess confidence and humor comes hand to hand. This is where I found myself making others laugh and have a great time. It was to a point where my new friends wouldn't believe a word when I say I used to be very shy back in HS.

2006... what a great year!

I find it hard to believe you are putting up asian stereotypes and then defying them not only in the post but with your selection of screenname.

OH BTW WWYBYB?

Too many of them idolize virginity for some stupid reason.

Yes, the liberal, anti-religious forum-goers idolize their virginity...😕

Where the fuck have you been?

Lemme salute you and be only one of many 100000000 people who will now simultaneously kiss your ass.

Yeah, getting your kiss at 22 is somewhat...odd, but uhh, why being a twat about it?

sheesh i meant to put a wink icon next to it, not at the end of the sentence. my bad.

Unless the OP plans on checking out soon, none of the highs and lows he's listed come anywhere close to the ones he'll have in the next 22 years.

21 was the best year of my life. I graduated from College, meaning I'm DONE full time school. Done Done and DONE. I'm 22 now so been working full time for over a year. Stress free life is just amazing. Well there is some stress to working full time but its just not as bad as school stress.

wow, you are doing it wrong.

I'm not stressed, have a job I like, making good money, soon will be able to afford to buy a house (can't wait to move on my own), I really can't see what I'd be doing wrong. 😛

Being in a small city does have it's ups. The big cities tend to be too fast paced and more stressful.

22 was a hard year for me too, not enough money (is there ever?), 23 has been even harder...now we have two kids, and two is WAY harder than one... still not enough money..

hopefully one day things will be better.

my best years were 20-21, i was making about the same amount of money, but had WAY LESS STRESS.... the stress is the killer..

That, or they can't get any (not by choice) so they say they're waiting for some purpose like marriage.

like I said...if you were making good money why are you living at home/having roommates.

To me that'd be stressful, but since you weren't getting any in COLLEGE...I am not sure what you have in your priority list. It can't be profit, pussy or proactive.
