22" LCD Monitor = $229

One of the problems with Emprex is that on their website, they say there is no warranty from them directly, only from Fry's. There isn't a warranty stated so you would have to find out.

This is the Q&A from Emprex about their warranty:
Q14: How do I know my warranty period and how to make registration for the product I bought ?
A14: Regarding product registration, the most efficient method would be to go back to your dealer for service, they are the one who granted you the warranty. As Emprex doesn't do retail business, we sell products to wholesalers, dealers, and distributors. In the meantime, we grant them the warranty based on each transaction agreed by both parties. Mostly our distributors will collect and request RMA from us. This is the general situation we would like you to know.
Our RMA policy is arranged around the principle that we can take only drives back directly from the companies that we sell to. In turn, they should do the same to their customers. So the end users send back the defective drives to their dealers, the dealers return defective drives to their distributors, and the distributors who buy from us will deal with our RMA dept. to take care of their defective returns.

Emprex GAQ link is here

Also, some of Emprex's stuff is the BTC brand. I have a couple DVD burned that were BTC repackaged as Emprex.

If that's true, there probably is no warranty; Frys will try to sell additional coverage and the buyer may be better off with one of the Samsung or Acer deals.

There will be a warranty of some sort. Fry's always gives something. If I were to hazard a guess, it would be 1 year parts/labor or 90 days parts/1 year labor. Yes, they might try to sell you the additional warranty for a price but it's never a hard sell. I always politely say no. They are required to ask that just as in the checkout line, the cashier will ask if you would like to apply for a Fry's card. Again it's not a hard sell.

Here's link to more monitor specs from the Emprex LM2201 to those interested.
