I went from a really sweet Mitsubishi 900U Diamondtron NF 19" CRT to a NEC/Mitsu 1760NX 17" 16ms LCD. I could never go back to a CRT. The LCD is a little smaller, but not a big deal. Text is RAZOR sharp, geometry is perfect, gaming is great. No ghosting with the 16ms response time. Its is MUCH easier on the eyes, which is very important for me.

CRT without a doubt. Personally I think LCD's are alot of stupid hype, but I don't move my monitor often. I have a crappy little 15inch I can take to LAN parties or whatever..

A lot of stupid hype? You mean a monitor that's an inch thick, weighs only ~10lbs, displays razor sharp text, and is the perfect solution for the non-gamer is all hype? The fact that it's a pleasure, not a pain to move it around is all hype?

I myself don't own a single LCD yet, as I'm very "bang for the buck" conscious, and LCD's just aren't there yet in terms of relative pricing compared to CRT's, but even I can see many reasons why LCD is superior. The only thing I don't like about them (aside from the ghosting) is dead pixels. Such an ugly thing...

Personally, I would go with the 22" CRT for gaming, scaling & color rendition issues, and the fact that I won't have to move it for at least five years. However, if I had to move it every few months or I was a treehugger that was into conserving energy, I would go with the LCD. LCD displays take up so much less space and they impress girls :) Although it sucks when they come over to your place and then spend most of their time on the computer because they like it so much!
