Thats a good question, I like watching the 3DMark scores in the database, but the bests of them didn´t ran all tests... that sucks.

Actually just using the 30.82's, found them most stable and fast - plus seems a general feeling aroun dthat 4x.xx's are optimised for the GF4's and 3x.xx's for GF3's etc.
The card is a creative version, not sure who makes it for them. It comes with alu heatsinks on memory & gpu plus a titchy fan. It's definately the next thing i'll upgrade in my comp, probably to a r9500pro or r9700 when they get cheaper - or the equivalent of them that's out when it comes round to my next round of upgrading.
Whats this registry hack and whats probably a "safe" & reasonable overclock? Never really bothered to find out much about graphics overclocking tbh.

Probably not loud at all, as others have shown its not air-cooled.

This score is 100% legit. I have been an avid xtremesystems fan for quite some time. The guys over there do some insane stuff to get the most out of their PC's.
what do you mean by legit? I take it the machine is unlikely to be very stable at that level of OC, or that the bench would accurately reflect the performance of the machine in "real" applications? I've little doubt it's a legit score in terms of no hacking etc involved, but I'd bet he tweaked it as much as possible purely for optimal 3dmark score - not exactly a bona fide benchmark really, is it? I read there's all sorts of things you can do to boost 3dmark score, from increasing it's priority in task manager, increasing LOD... even just running it again and again so even though the machine crashes 9 times out of 10, the one time it manages to hold up long enough you get a high score.
OK so its a "genuine" score, but it's benching for the sake of scores, not exactly something approaching a true benchmark. Any hardware review site did that they'd be shot to peices. I'm not trying to flame the guy, if breaking 3dmark records is what you're into then fair play, but it's a shame 3Dmark doesnt have some checkbox or autodetect or whatever to seperate bona-fide & stable machines from the 3Dmark score-whore (take that lightly please 😛) machines - they pretty much make the whole compare system bunk. Isn't the point of a benchmark to be a standard allowing direct comparisons?
holy crap that is a high score! he needs to do some UT2003 benchmarks on that baby too 🙂 I get about 11000 3dmarks on my system, with a AMD Athlon XP 1700+ @ 2000+, and a GeForce 4 ti 4200 128mb running close to 4600 speeds.How high does anyone think i could overclock my athlon with a watercooling system and a better PSU i got a 350 watt PSU (codegen) as of now, and a Shuttle AK31A (KT266A) board, im currently overclocking it just using FSB, i could unlock it sometime though. My current cooler is a ThermalTake Volcano 6cu, any suggestions on how to pull extra performance out of my cpu?

There is a registry hack for NVidia cards that gives you a clock frequency tab in your advanced display properties. That's what I used. You can find it with Google. There are also other programs around that let you adjust the core and memory frequencies. Some say those are easier to use. Just start raising the core and memory clock and running 3D Mark 2001. If you go too high, 3D Mark will hang or crash your system.
Your success will depend on your card. Mine is the Gainward Golden Sample version which just means it has faster memory than others. But many people are able to run their Ti200's at Ti500 speed or close to it.

Kind of along the lines of what Davegod said, these guys do to their systems whatever they have to, simply to get that 3DMark2001 SE score. I'm not all that terribly impressed - anyone with the money to afford that hardware along with the insane cooling *can* do it. But do they use the system - at those specs no less - for normal use? Heh. You wish. Too unstable (notice he had to turn the vid card's memory frequency down to even get to run Nature?).
It's their thing, trying to beat each other on this benchmark. Props to you if that's what you want to do in your spare time. For some of these guys, it's almost a full-time 'hobby'. But it's certainly not accurate to think that this the setup and specs they use to play games with - it's not good for the hardware at all. I wonder what kind of lifespan these components have? (not that it matters since the guys that do this will have next week's latest toys replace this stuff) Most of these setups aren't even contained within a case. Try carrying it around to a LAN party. 😀
