I ended up getting sick, then bronchitis. And you know how when you are a smoker, getting sick like that just means smoking less, not stopping?

Ended up waking up one night hacking and wheezing. One of my wife's brothers had been down, uses an inhaler. I had a friend who was a lot older, she both smoked and needed an inhaler. They both coughed like that...scared the hell out of me.

Quit cold turkey (except for that half a butt I had a couple days later), and haven't touched anything since. Wife was very supportive but had never forced me to quit or anything -- it was really the first time *I* wanted to quit for real, instead of quitting because I *should*. I think I curled up in the fetal position for a couple of weeks :biggrin:

Couple months later is when I started horking up black tar for the better part of the next year. That is just grooooossssssss 😵

I'm a big fatty though. I think it was easier/is easier to quit smoking because you can live without it. But I have to eat...the hard part is not eating too much. 😳

Congrats on the 6 years :thumbsup:

I'm happy for you, Rude. I'm awesome at giving advice (and not taking) but the cig death is ugly. No, I don't smoke but I have the liver killer.
