My friend is 24, works in advertising in the city

Another piece of info: My friend who is referring me has been a childhood friend since I was 5 years old. I don't think she would be asking me on a whim and has thought this through.

My cousin (who was 21 at the time) went with my sister's friend (17) to their HS Senior Prom because she couldn't find a date.

If 17 is legal in your state, I say go get some. Otherwise, don't even bother going to the prom.
