Yes, in that it depicts real, innocent people who died. You could make the argument that the characters in Call of Duty represent real people, but we generally consider the military to be fair game.

Personally though, I don't think this is a big deal, nor do I think the Columbine game was a big deal, or the JFK assassination game, or the movie about the fictional assassination of President Bush.

call of duty was a wrong example to use imo, but GTA is a perfect example. in that game you can steal from and kill innocent people and cops and do other illegal things.

Somehow I think that $500 to someone's cousin will get more bang for the buck than the $3000 option. And be ironic.

The game was clearly specifically made to get a bunch of whiney vajayjays up in arms about it and demand punishment, kicking the crap out of him, whatever. He's certainly getting his wish, judging from some of the responses here.

If he were in America, he wouldn't be punished for being a tool, and that's the way it should be. If you don't like the game, don't play it.

If only that were the case. Don't recall that thread/story about the kid who got expelled from his school because he made a CS map of the high school? Text

I guess my point on call of duty is that think of the veterans who might have been in WWII on the beaches and had to watch their friends die. Now you have kids playing this "game" that just makes light/fun of what these guys went through. To me it's the same as the VT game in taht aspect. The only difference is that this recently happened and WWII was some time ago. I understand they aren't the exact same thing though.

i wouldn't say the game makes light/fun of it, but i'm sure all the little kids playing it do.

The reason people are getting pissed about this game is because it depicts real people in a real event. GTA doesn't.

This has nothing to do with whether or not he is allowed to do this. Of course he is allowed to do this, he has the right to. This thread was more of just an FYI about a POS.

What makes me sick is how everyone seems to think that if people do something they don't agree they should be doing, that they will cry that they should stop doing it.

He shouldn't pull it down off his site, I applaud him for not folding to pressure. I wouldn't personally make such a game out of poor taste, but I'm not going to cry that someone did. If you don't like it DONT DOWNLOAD THE GAME - and shut up about it. People won't be happy until the entire world is PC and anything that exists that can offend another is non existant along with the freedom we have in life

That's not the same; I believe he was considered a possible harmful detriment to his fellow peers. I personally don't think he was, but people way over-analyze these things.

Funny how you don't hold yourself to the same standard you set in your first paragraph. In one breath you say that people should not speak out against people who are doing something that they don't agree with, but in the next breath you do that very thing. People should NOT be free from criticism for their actions.

I should have clarrified myself a bit better. I'm all for criticising what he's doing as long as it ends at the criticism and not with him having to pull it. The problem is that thats where these things lead.

The same way I criticize those that cry about things like this. But I'm only criticising, I'm not pursuing some kind of law that states they can't. Where as in the PC world, this is the way these things are heading. I assumed this would of been obvious, but apparently not

But that is all that people are doing - criticizing. And his web host took it down in response to the criticism. Absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Nice dig at the end there, by the way. Don't get pissy if you say something stupid and someone calls you on it.

I don't see this as any worse than the 'convert or die' evangelical christian video game.
