Guys,

Do any of you know whether there's any 21" monitor that has dual input (2 D-Sub) & USB hub built in to it? I'm thinking of upgrading my 17" to either 19" or 21" preferably that has those 2 features. I know IIyama VMPro 451 has those 2 features, but that one is 19". I wonder if there's 21" w/ those features. Thanks!

Cornerstone p1500, p1600 and p1700 21" monitors all have dual d-sub inputs with a toggle switch on the front of the monitor. USB hub is optional 1 upstream and 4 down stream ports.

Please note I work for Cornerstone and I'm biased.

I doubt any other monitor has thses features, maybe the Sony G500 or the IBM P260, but I dont think those have USB hub. In this case I would go for Iiyama 19" if the USB is important.

Hi all, thanks for the reply.

Gosharkss, I have considered the CornerStone in the past, the only thing I don't like about their 21" is that they're not perfectly flat and they're shadow mask.

LXi & nippyjun, the Sony G500 doesn't have it, but the F500 does, but I don't think I want to buy a $1500 monitor.. :).

Do you guys think maybe I should just get a separate USB hub? How much one of those go for anyway?

I think I've got some ViewSonic Professional 815s with those features in a lab here at work. Not flat but very nice monitors.

Can you convert D-Sub to 5 BNC? Or I have to buy a special video card to use that 5BNC input on the monitor?
I know the quality of 5 BNC is better than D-Sub, but if you convert the D-Sub out to 5 BNC input, will the quality be better still?

The Compaq P1100 is a flat screen trinitron 21' with a 4 port USB hub built in, and 2 VGA inputs. Very nice monitor, not sure who made it origionally.

www.compaqfactoryoutlet.com may result in a reman one for a nice discount.

GreenGrinch:

If you care about quality, I would recommend getting a monitor with BNC support, such as the Samsung SyncMaster 1200NF, or the Iiyama VisionMaster Pro 510. I know for a fact that the Samsung has USB hub as an option, but Iiyama doesn't. But if you have to have dual D-Sub, you're going to have to do some intense research.

Also, I believe the Sony G500 does have dual D-Sub, because even its little brother G400 has it.

by all means don't just buy a monitor for the USB hub... a standalone USB 4-port hub can cost as low as $20-30...

I would recommend the Sony G500... I have the G400 and love it.
