Howdy All,

Is it worth keeping a 21 inch CRT Sony Trinatron monitor ? Or selling it ?

Specs are: Made in 1998
Max res 1600x1200
Pitch 0.28mm
Refresh rates up to 75Khz

I have a buyer. Is the CRT world going to die very soon ? Should I get rid of it now while I've got the chance ?

Thanks
- Alex

That's not a lot, are you happy with it? If so, why not keep it? CRT monitors are still the norm now, and a reasonably sized LCD would probably cost more. Sony Trinitron monitors are very good, and monitors are meant to last through many upgrades anyway, so if you're not unhappy with it, why sell it?

hell no don't sell that! 21" CRTs are pricey! I still think that LCDs have limited application (ie, they suck for games and anything else where you change the res.) If it is running well you'd be better off to keep it!

Well, if it's from 1998, then it could be a first generation Trinitron (vertically flat but not horizontally), not an FD Trinitron. If it is a first generation, then don't expect to get as much as you would for a 21" FD Trinitron. Nevertheless, if you're happy with it, then keep it.
