20oz bottle of soda, how much where you are?

Got to thinking about that thread on the solar powered vending machine we had a few weeks ago. People seemed pretty upset about paying the premium price of $1 for a can.

So I got to thinking, how much do you pay for a typical 20oz (591ml) bottle where you are. It's the standard size sold by machines and convenience stores.

Here in eastern Canada, it's $2.00 from a machine, but up to $2.25 at convenience stores.

$1.59 for 20oz in the mini fridge right b4 the checkout lines at my local supermarket.

the insanity is that 2liter bottles are $1 😱

peoiple are stupid and my supermarket is capitalizing on it

hm.. how can i make boatloads of $ of off stupid people aka avg american?

Soda is barely worth $1.25 for the 20oz. although, its really only costs $1.15 as I take the bottles back for 0.10 deposit refund. Gas stations want way more than that.. which I won't pay for.
My supermarket had 24oz cans of beer for a buck last year. much better way to spend my dollar.

Don't have a clue....too cheap to buy them. Always take my "generic" store brand pop with me (at work or at job site).

If you're out and you want a soda, a 2 liter bottle is a bitch to lug around, not to mention you look pretty damn stupid walking down the street drinking from it.

The 20 oz bottles seem to go for just under $1.50 at the store here. I don't buy them anymore. I used to but I always said if the price ever went over a buck I would do so no more, and I stopped.

I'm 48. When I was 16 you could pull into a Stop N Go and get a 32 oz (quart) bottle of soda and a package of 6 mini donuts for $1. See what the government has done to our buying power in a mere 30 years? It should scare the shit out of you but most people will simply plod along in willful ignorance.

How much were you making 30 years ago?

Usually $1.29. Some are $1.49. Some are $0.99.

I just go to walmart and buy their house brand 2L bottles for $0.68
