Soyo's website says the Cigar HD20 has been discontinued. I believe these two drives differ only in their casing..

4200 RPM? What's the normal speed for most externals? I didn't know they made anything slower than 5400 anymore.

I guess it depends which companyyou buy it from:
Seagate portable drive is 5400 RPM
This Wolverine drive is 4200 RPM
Acomdata is 5400 RPM
Seagate pocket drive is 3600 RPM

1.8" Hard Drives: Small is Beautiful (THG)

Most external drives use 3.5" HDD's. Smaller ones use 2.5" notebook drives. Even smaller ones use 1.8" drives. The tiniest ones use CompactFlash HDD's or Microdrives.

Anyway, the tiniest 20GB-80GB external drives are all 4200rpm.

The drives listed by esquared above are all of the 2.5" variety except for the Seagate Pocket Drive, which is based on a Microdrive.
