Like have the van's "primary" use is to produce electricity and it's "secondary" use is to drive the van?

I suspect this would make the van slower to the point you can't drive on the highway, but if it moves fast enough to drive on a regular street I'd be satisfied.

The reason im asking is because I wanted a large amount of portable electricity that the alternator can't provide.

You mean the van/engine is already capable of providing for all of these needs?!?

Across the country, thousands of 80s era Fords idling so a cell phone could be charged. Blue air's the best air!

I can only imagine how lovely those vans would smell after a few weeks of unshowered homeless people living in them.

You should probably stick to the plan of manufacturing GPU's, Gizmo.

OP, first it was solar, now gas? Gas is getting expensive, so I don't think it's a good idea.

So the homeless could just put gas in the van and use the Generator to power appliances such as air conditioning/heating, refrigeration, and charge phones/laptops and such.

Do you think this is feasible?
Because the homeless can pay for the $7 a gallon gas in parts of the U.S. that are only going to continue into 2022. Cell phones and laptops? You're completely disconnected from the real world.

I just wanted to talk about this some more.

Here are some ChatGPT images of my idea:
