I had no horse in the race but I thought that a Miami team playing in a Miami stadium against a team whose quarterback is a Miami native certainly might have the advantage. Then, during the game, I read all the news sites that said the makeup of the stadium audience was as much as 75% Indiana fans. That is amazing. Maybe it had nothing to do with the win, but I believe something like that is palpable to the players and certainly did not hurt.

Congrats to a real Cinderella team. They deserve their win last night and all the other 15 as well.

That was a great game. I was rooting for IU, they were the only team I was rooting for that actually won over the weekend lol. I thought I saw at one point during the broadcast that the avg ticket price for the game was something like $4700?! That's wild!

Same here. I only saw the highlights, though. No ESPN here. I did a trial to Sling a couple times over the last 3 years, just sucked so bad I wouldn't do it for free. No DVR capabilities and the video was pretty choppy.

Yeah, undefeated! I knew they were for real when they went on the road to Eugene and beat Oregon, who were undefeated at the time and had won 22 straight home games.

Mendoza's touchdown run last night was epic.

Someone on Reddit compared it to Elway's helicopter leap into the endzone in SB32. I would agree with that.

EDIT: NVM, Elways leap was just to get a first down. Not a touchdown. I mis remembered it lol.

It really was. I could see their whole saga being made into a movie down the road
too ludicrous for even Hollywood.

Who would've thunk Curt Cignetti's 2023 JMU Dukes (+ Cal's QB1) would be national champs in 2026? ;)

TBH it's hard for me to imagine anyone playing Mendoza or Cignetti better than they are in reality, so I think a documentary would be the way to do it.
