People shouldn't come here for "news", people should come here to discuss the best motherboards, or the best hard drives, or the best operating systems, just as most of us originally discovered the site. How we sidetracked into solving the problems of the world is beyond me but in all fairness I was distracted too. And still am. ;) So, how are your gigabytes doing today?
Please, don't tell us what to discuss, P+N has been part of ATF since forever and these are not ordinary times.

Of course, today Trump is denying the allegations that he has considered or talked about Martial law. Which means he really did. It's the same old "fake news" argument he has used over the last 4 years to deny something, for it to happen days or weeks later.

this is one of the pitfall of liberals. they think that if you just give conservatives the facts they'll suddenly see the light and abandon conservatism. they can't wrap their heads around the fact that there are people who just are conservative.

For about 90% of them, to change their minds about the bad things they believe requires the bad thing happening directly to them in a way that can’t be pawned off on the “other”.

The only other option requires a couple of ghosts visiting on Christmas.

I don’t believe the military higher ups would allow Marshall law to happen.
Don't forget the orange turd just re-orgd the pentagon.
Link

The shake-up at the Pentagon continues after President Trump "terminated" Defense Secretary Mark Esper, replacing him with his counterterrorism chief, Christopher Miller, who was being briefed on issues and operations.

Three other top Pentagon officials have been replaced with Trump loyalists who have pushed conspiracy theories or who are hawkish on Iran. There are concerns such personnel changes could mean a more aggressive stance toward Iran before the president leaves office in the next 2 1/2 months.

There should be no reason a President should be making any of these changes post election. We have to figure out a way to change the transition period to account for these things.
I think the one upside to Trump is that he has been a stress test on our democracy. And is has become obviously clear where the weaknesses are.

Once they lose in November (or after the formal EC if you prefer), they should not be able to make any staffing changes or issue EOs. They should only have emergency powers (which would need to be defined by Congress). Any policy matters that are necessary before the new term should require concurrence with the new office holder.

Donald is so used to manipulating everything for himself that he honestly doesnt see it as bad. Its just The Way.
And his kids grew up under the same system, so to them its also simply The Way.

Thats only the latest example but it helps add to the pile. Narcissism so extreme you would literally burn the country just to keep your ego from being bruised.

AZ GOP Chair Tells Trump to 'Cross the Rubicon' in Tweet Shared by Flynn

"We are working every avenue to stop this coup & to stop our Republic from crumbing," Kelli Ward tweeted.
Just in case the reference is lost on anyone, when Caesar crossed the Rubicon he initiated a bloody civil war that destroyed the Roman Republic and replaced it with a dictatorship.

They are literally calling for Trump to crown himself emperor.

What kills me is these assholes call themselves "patriots". hey fuck-wad's, "patriots" ACCEPT the results of a lawful
election, not claim it was "rigged" without a speck of evidence and vow to resist the outcome. Asshole's, "our republic",
fuck off honey "our republic" includes the 81 million that voted against your fucking corrupt loser candidate.

Powell has pushed Trump to issue an executive order to seize voting machines.

and this coming a former federal prosecutor who should know it doesn't work that way.

Attorney Sidney Powell back at White House Sunday

Attorney Sidney Powell was back at the White House Sunday to push President Donald Trump and his administration to issue an executive order to seize voting machines for examination, two sources with direct knowledge tell ABC News.

It is unclear if Powell met face-to-face with the president Sunday.

She met with Trump in the Oval Office Friday night and was joined by Trump's former national security adviser, retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn.

Sources, who were against the move Friday evening, were stunned to hear Powell was back in the building Sunday.

Critics expressed alarm at Friday's meeting, which was first reported by The New York Times. Noah Bookbinder, who heads the watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, told ABC News that the ideas raised in the Oval Office would represent an "abuse of power" and were "wrong and must be condemned."

We'll see come January 21st. That might be a VERY LONG 30 days. I won't put anything past Cult45 at this point.

There is no mechanism by which the outcome of the election can be changed. It's just that simple. Trump does not have the loyalty of the people who could attempt to make it otherwise. Epic shit flinging won't change it. The electoral machinery of American Democracy will cycle him right on out, on schedule.

The only thing that will change who is president on January 20th is if Trump successfully convinces the military and federal law enforcement to arrest his political enemies, ending the republic.

I think he will put out feelers to see if they WOULD do this, and in some ways already has. They won't though, which is why he's out.

Maybe the #bothsides people should take a minute and think about this though, how one #side is attempting to end democracy.

Trump will set up a “White House” at Mar-a-Lago and sell tickets for twenty bucks, and for an extra ten you can get whatever pardons you need. Trump will spend every day sitting in a fake oval office on TV, responding to the events of the day as if he is President. Kayleigh McEnany can pretend to give daily briefings next to him but can't get a word out because Trump can't stop grabbing her ass. In between shows they can sell reverse mortgages and robot uprising insurance to frightened seniors.

The military refused to be politicized in the immediate aftermath of the bible waving episode on the steps of St John's church. Esper disarmed the National Guard & refused to bring regular troops into the Capital. Milley & others have driven home the message many times since then. They won't have any part of it. Neither will the FBI or any significant part of federal law enforcement. Nope.

Which won't stop Trump from flooding the zone with shit in a desperate attempt to hold on. He's in a situation that he can't bribe, bully, bullshit or bluster his way out of as usual. McConnell already told him as much & I'm sure Barr told him the same thing. He really has nothing to lose because the minute he's no longer President all the crap he's pulled will start to catch up to him, starting with the pornstar payoffs. In his place, I'd be out of the country on inauguration day & plan to stay there the rest of my life. He can kiss Twitter & Facebook goodbye along with all the attention he gets from the MSM. He'll still have Newsmax, Parler & RT, but it won't be nearly the same.

When will happen a "People's Coup"?
I'm seeing the news about the Covid "relief" bill and surpassed all expectations. You couldn't write this in fiction, would be too ridiculous.
