The idea that the problems with our health system stem from environmental issues is nothing short of ludicrous. It doesn't help things in an already shitty system but you could erase all environmental and behavioral factors today, right now, and our healthcare system would continue to be shit in every way.

You are correct. Millions of people only sit around and deny coverage to people. Nobody handles the gazillion medical regulations, information storage, data processing, form submissions, billings, payroll, customer service, HR, etc. Just one big group with red stamps stamping "DENIED!!!!" on everything.

Sure, your BP pills are cheap, but wait until that high blood pressure causes you to have your first heart attack. Wait until that high cholesterol causes you to need a bypass. Wait until that diabetes causes you to have a skin ulcer that won't heal. Then you are suddenly hit with tens of thousands in medical bills.

Preventive medical is fairly cheap. It is the crisis intervention that bankrupts you. Half of what we are trying to do with Medicare-for-all type plans is get people to do preventative medicine more regularly.

I thought it was people telling stories about how they were bankrupted by paying for BP pills and having access to clean food and water. Not those stories about people losing all their money because they had to pay for heart bypasses and chemo because we didn't target preventative care as a priority. I guess I was wrong.

Warren came off better than some of the speeches she's given. She did seem less like she was lecturing the country than what I've noticed in the past so that should help her.

That is what the media wants as well, which is why they keep pushing Harris. She can’t win on policy or ideas.

It’s incredibly divisive that she went after Biden over race and identity. Prior polls had her losing in her home state to Biden. This will certainly raise her standing in areas Democrats will already decisively win, but it felt like a pyrrhic attack.

Imagine if mayor Pete start going after Biden over his stance during the time of “don’t ask don’t tell”. You cannot hold people accountable for not being “woke” during times of major societal change.

Castro was the only candidate that surprised and impressed me. I would support any ticket that is a mix of Warren with Major Pete or Castro.

So glad Beto is fizzling out.
