OpenZika is nice for teams who have more Linux users than other teams. B-)

How about opening a new Pentathlon 2019 thread, with announcements in the 1st post and everything?

One Minor, but fixable, drawback is that SETI.Germany links to this thread. I think even changing the title changes the link, but I have not tested that on any of my own threads.

I can link to any new thread from the OP. 🙂

It's so quiet here because everyone is watching the Pentathlon front page now.

NFS@home is the second project.
And this second discipline is day 1 of 5 of Javelin Throw. (The other 4 days still need to be announced, one by one, out of the blue.)

--------
Although it's still looong until go time, here is important advice from our 2018 thread:
Don't flush 'til you see the whites of their eyes! the starting stats on their site!
(That's necessary because SETI.Germany can't guarantee a latency with which their server receives stats from the project servers.)

yoyo@home

ECM tasks are RAM intensive and tasks I just downloaded are due May 9th.
sieve tasks are due May 6th (bunkering may be risky if you download too many)

I have 20 out of 40 threads on my 2P running ECM tasks and RAM usage is 72 GB out of 96 GB.

EDIT: now I have 5 ECM tasks waiting for memory. At least that's an improvement ove the last sprint, where tasks would start using my swap drive as RAM.

And now my head has spun around backwards with eyes rolled back looking at the ceiling.
Not a pretty sight the wife says.
Remember, Javelin Throw is only for one day. To be followed by another day, and three more. The first of which could be as early as May 7 at this point, but it's somewhat less than likely.

"Last Test Before Pentathlon" Uhm, SG's site is now asking for my username and password.....

EDIT: Whew, back to normal

Ah ha! Shoutbox transcript

11:21 pschoefer: quick announcement: we'll do a final stats test this afternoon, the Pentathlon site will be pw-protected during that time... shouldn't take longer than a few minutes Posted: Saturday May. 4, 2019 at 20:44. Info

It's taken awhile for the stats to get sorted out at WCG. We are 4th place now.
There is a [h]ardcore team right behind us, and another one further behind (SUSA). Plus, there are three teams behind us who have large numbers of users (LAF, SG, CNT). The latter three are all European and may have gotten started just a few hours ago after sunrise over their peninsula. ... It's a long marathon still, obviously...

The Scottish Boinc Team has a great start. 71+ million points and a big lead. Let's see if they can hold it.

I made a calendar.

If their SUSA or XS guests withdraw out of TSBT before the 00:00 UTC mark, TSBT will lose all points made by those temporary guests.

(This is a quirk of WCG's stats keeping: Hourly stats work like all other BOINC projects. But WCG's daily stats are computed separately from a 00:00 UTC snapshot of user credits & user team affiliations.)
