I miss John Lynch. Terrible pass coverage safety but that guy brought the boom.

I don't understand how T.O. got snubbed from first ballot HOF for his antics, but a guy who was literally involved in a murder gets in first go.

Good for Moss. You know you're talented when you only have to try half the time and still make the HOF on your first try.

It's about on-field achievements. It's not about being a role model. Ray Lewis can ball, simple as that. Urlacher has his issues too, fending off strippers and custody battles.

If that were true, T.O. would have been a guaranteed first ballot HOFer.

TO was a shitty teammate. Ray Lewis never stabbed anybody on his team.

Moreover. Cris Carter was 6 years before hall of fame induction. Similar total number of pro bowls / all pros. Him waiting 2 years is okay. First ballot should be for greatness that transcends the generation, 2-5 is great in your generation.

"It's about on-field achievements"

Stop moving the goalposts. T.O. is a top 5 all time WR. So if all that matters is his on field performance, he has it. Only player with a TD against all 32 teams (and he has multiple against every team). Only player with an 800 yard season with 5 different teams. Tied with Rice, Harrison, and Don Hutson for most consecutive 6-TD seasons. Tied with Tony Gonzalez for most consecutive 700-yard seasons. He's the only person in NFL history with even 3 TDs in 15 consecutive seasons, let alone 5. He's the oldest player to ever get 200 yards from scrimmage. First team all-pro with 3 different teams.

And, again, not a murderer.

Teammate sort of has to do with how they are on the field. Half of those achievements are because despite being a great player, he did not stick with one or even two teams.

You mentioned Harrison, not a first ballot hall of famer. Tony Gonzalez will likely be a first ballot hall of famer, but he defined a generation for tight ends. I can't really say that TO did the same. At probably any given time, there were wide receivers you would rather have on your team. The position is just loaded with talent so first ballot HOF for a wide receiver takes something really incredible imo.
