Vikings look to boost their Super Bowl chances with a National Champion and select Hughes, CB UCF at 30.

And to close out the first round, Ravens decide Jackson, QB L'ville, is elite with the 32nd pick.

i hope the browns get guice at 33

Why, do you feel Carlos Hyde and Duke Johnson need a 3rd stringer to back them up? Makes more sense for them to pick DE Harold Landry and the best remaining OL with the 33 and 35 picks.

I don’t hate the Mayfield pick but they could have traded down and still gotten him; ditto for Ward at 4 overall.

So true. Mayfield is probably sobbing in his beer. We should start a poll to see how many games he lasts.

No! I don't want to see a talent like Chubb disappearing into the oblivion that is the Browns organization.

we winning the AFC north in 2020, you heard it here first

I think picking Mayfield at #1 was pretty dumb, but not because of Mayfield. I think they have a solid, capable QB at Taylor now and unless they only expect him to work for 1 or 2 more seasons before getting Mayfield going, it was just dumb. They should have used those top picks for DL and OL (not Chubb!--even though that would have been a much better pick for them, imo).

Taylor is a skilled, drama-free, smart QB that they can build off of by putting some decent talent around him over the next couple of years, and by not overpaying for a rookie QB they could have better spent that cash elsewhere. That, and someone in the Brown's org really needs to remind the GM "No, we are not allowed to take QBs at #1. We just aren't. No matter what, we aren't allowed."

There doesn't seem to be any reason that they can't overtake the Bears or the Lions, but then all of those franchises seem to be competing with each other right now, the nod going to the Lions, though, as a lock to dominate a distant #2 slot in the AFC North for the next couple of seasons...but then who knows. All of this proto-season prognostication turns out to be for shit in the end, because a couple of teams somehow manage to turn on a dime from one season to the next for reasons that only become "obvious" by week ~12. Not all of them, of course, but it does happen.

The Browns 1st round is still humorous to me, because Browns.

If you want to take BM #1 that's fine, go ahead and do it. To me he's a middle of the 1st round guy who got hyped up to #1 overall. But if you need excitement and a "face of the franchise" type of player I guess you could do worse. We'll see.

Denzel Ward at #4 overall? The Browns are terrible. They need good players everywhere. If you have your heart set on Ward trade down and get and extra pick or two. Ryan Pace is an idiot and he wanted Nelson. He should have been easy prey for a trade. A small corner, no matter how good, should never be at the top of a draft. I don't think Ward was even seen as a 1st rounder when he declared and there were some great DBs with size on the board.

Look at the Bears 10+ years ago. They drafted two young corners and seemed set at the position for years to come. One guy was a smallish speed guy and the other was Charles Tillman. I clearly remember how everyone was much higher on the other guy (lol I don't even remember his name) because Tillman wasn't "fast". He only lasted 2-3 years.

Tillman became one of the best CBs in the NFL for many seasons. No one defended Megatron better than he did.

wonder who the browns are gonna take at 64... wait did they trade the pick?

Who cares at this point, every choice they’ve made so far is questionable at best and idiotic at worst. The NFL should just force them to use the ESPN fantasy football auto-draft feature next time to save them from themselves.
