2018 5th Gen Hondas

Anyone excited for these? I am trying my best to hold off right now. A larger 3rd row seating CRV would be fantastic. I feel the current model is stale and competitors have really given Honda a run for their money. The cargo space on the 4th gen is just feels pathetic.

And honestly the hatchback Civic looks quite sharp as well.

"174-hp1, 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with direct injection, and an available 6-speed manual transmission."

Don't really care for CUVs, but the Civic hatch does look nice. Just wish they made it more of a hatchback. Right now, I'm looking at either the Bolt or the Civic as a replacement for my '09 Fit.

I think the CRV is getting too big for its own good. I like the styling of the HRV but the horsepower is too weak. The new Accords and Civics are decent looking IMO. Some feel the fronts of those Accords and Civics were a bit cut off (too short).

Probably because they feel they are missing the market which the Toyota Highlander falls into. The Toyota really has no competition. They could make the CR-V compete with the Highlander and the HR-V take the place of the CR-V and compete with the Rav4. Then you would have an equivalent Honda for most of the Toyotas.

HR-V - Rav4
CR-V - Highlander
Pilot - 4Runner

That doesn't really make any sense. The pilot doesn't compete with the 4runner, it does against the highlander and always has. Honda doesn't have anything to compete against the 4runner, but that's a low volume segment and the only real competition there (Xterra) left. Toyota doesn't have anything in this market competing against the hrv.

Cant say I ever get "excited" by any Hondas, but growing the crv is stupid. It's already grown too much and too underpowered for its own good. But every new car seems to need to be bigger for some reason, even if the whole point of the crv is to be at a comfortable size.

I am a big fan of Odyssey. Hope thy drop this ugly stupid bolt design and bring a good looking minivan. If so, I might get one.

The Rav4 has also grown a lot...

The Xterra is gone.

Of the mid 90s SUVs that really kicked off the SUV craze, only the 4Runner and Grand Cherokee are left. Everything else is just a car based fwd cetacean.
