Uh, how can you criticize one and praise the other? They're the same vehicle with different amounts of cargo space.

Personally I like it. The mechanical and interior upgrades are great. Exterior...its a huge SUV. I'm not sure what one can really expect.

It just looks like an "updated" Suburban to me. They all look almost the same, just more "sleek" for the future. I think it does look a bit long, but the Suburban always looked like that.

My neighbor has an older Yukon. That thing is a pile of junk on wheels. It leaks fluids all over the place so he doesn't even park it in his driveway. There is a huge oil slick on the road in front of his house where he parks it and I was getting something out of the trunk of my car last night and smelled coolant while standing right in front of his truck... I should mention that to him. I'm sure he'll be thrilled about that.

They should just ban these things. I swear I never see large SUVs with more than one person in it.

Yes, ban any vehicle that is not being used at or near it's full capacity.

For example, motorcycles must always have 2 riders to offset their high air pollution.

I drove a Yukon once. They're just a Silverado with a permanent truck cap. I've never really seen the purpose behind them. They're less efficient then a minivan for family/cargo and they're less practical than a pickup for work.

However, the people that drive them are diehard fans. We used to get them into the shop occasionally for insurance replacement and they'd demand we give them another Yukon/Tahoe. The company did stock a very small number of them, though they were rarely in our territory. Yet when we offered a pickup or van they'd refuse.

Meh. The Durango looks awesome now. This is just generic looking, like the accumulation of whatever they could dig out of the GM parts bin.

Leaking fluids is usually a maintenance issue, or lack thereof. My Suburban has 116k and is rock solid. Probably going to be my last as when this one is up I'm not going to need the size anymore but it's a great truck.

I was waiting to see the new GM SUVs before buying. I think the Suburban looks like an oversize Ford Flex. Not appealing to me. I need to get my wife's input, but I don't think I need to wait to see the Escalade to scratch the GM products from my shopping list. They were low on the list anyway, due to the bailout, but there isn't much that has the passenger AND cargo space of the Suburban. And no, I don't want a church van. :)

Some people require the CARGO SPACE for WORK.

relax.

I might get the tahoe.

What work requires a 45K+ SUV for cargo?

My cousin is an offender - household size of 2, husband owns a full size pickup, and she works from home. 99% of the time it's just her and her tiny dog in a big ass suburban. Makes zero sense.

I don't think so. He has a Pontiac GTO in the garage that he rarely drives and he had a Toyota 4Runner before the Yukon but that was probably like 10 years ago. He told me that he has taken it in multiple times for the rear differential but it just seems to leak constantly. The Toyota never leaked and I haven't seen the GTO parked outside ever so I don't know if it leaks or not but I tend to doubt it... just this pile of shit.

FWIW our 2002 Tahoe was the most reliable car we have ever owned. Nothing other than oil, brakes and a set of tires needed replacement in the 80k miles and 10 years we owned it

So this thing is ugly while a Kia Soul is pretty?

Give me a break.

Welcome to ATG ;)

I think they look good. But, I liked the most recent redesign as well.

And LOL at the suburban/tahoe being a "work truck". If you mean 'work truck' as in driving over curbs at the mall while hauling 4 kids and a bunch of gear then yeah.
