2015 S3 Sedan 290hp, 3100lbs!

AWD, Decent 4pot turbo, sedan, Audi interior. Supposed to be around $40k but wha... 3100 lbs!

So people tested this car over in Monaco recently and I'm getting the same ballpark HP numbers, but when it comes to the weight of this thing all over the place! I'm crossing my fingers for 3100 but I highly doubt it.

Meh, for the performance only factor of that car I would just get the MK7 Golf R. Same car, less badging, not as great interior (less weight?), same power plant.

Though, every time I go from my GTI to an A4 or A7 I am constantly reminded why that badging matters.

VW/Audi will always find a way to screw things up.

S-Tronic or manual, pick one because they won't bring both to the US.

Under 40K, sure $39,900 + destination.

3100 lbs - not going to happen, even with their newest platform. Base 2 door Golf R is 3325. Subtract 100 (platform savings) and that's 3225 + 2 doors.

Outside looks nice, inside is disappointing.

Its 3300 lbs, similar dimensions to the b5 s4 but less weight, more power, and its faster. Will be dct only for now in the us.

I still think 3300 is a pretty good weight for that car.

Really? I like the inside. It's not too busy, but is still elegant and refined. Fine red stitching all around, head up display, nice steering wheel, etc.

If I end up driving a bit less in a year or so, I would consider leasing this. Maybe not worth the buy unless I can get a very lightly used one for a good price.

The red stitching is nice. I don't like the look of the vents, especially in the shot from the backseat looking forward. The red panels on the seats look cheesy. Dash looks like every other audi dash except for the boost gauge (but useless with no numbers) and the S3 logo.

I would expect more from the "S" ... This would probably be on par with the performance of my IS350 (3450 lbs. / 306 hp).... seems like a tough sell given the competition and its price, surprised there isn't more juice out of the "S"

I like it. Between this and the 2-series, it'll be a good time buying mid-late next year. Since I'm forced to get an auto, I'd prefer having the DCT on the S3 over the 8-speed on the 2-series.

We need to get the car on a dyno before you can know. My S4 is rated at 333hp and 325tq but when you put it on a dyno they are doing close to that at the wheel. Audi is notorious for underrating engines so we'll need to see how it works out.

That being said the only way I would go with the 3 is for the RS3. If the S3 really comes in at 39,900 then I'll just pay a bit more for a new s4.

The quilted seats look so much better than the red insert ones.

A travsverse engines unbalancer super golf without any sort of torque vectoring. The f22 2 series will eat this alive and will be infinitely more balanced

As a former b8 a4 owner which still is a plow fest even with a longitudinal layout this is going to be plowfest city.

This and the cla make a mockery of a real German car. All the golf based Audi's aren't real audis. A real Audi is torsen based.

What's the deal with the nav/media unit sticking up from the dash as if it was hammered in place by a dude working at Boomer McLoud? Talk about putting a turd on what otherwise is a nice sleek design.

Yeah, I agree. I'm hoping it folds away into the dash when you turn the car off like on the current A7/A8's.

$41k for a Premium Plus and $47k for a Prestige according to leaks.. wee. Much better equipped for the price than a 2-Series. Joined ACNA to get 6% off MSRP in the event I'm buying it in August/September/October.

I was at a focus group a while back on the topic of dashboards and such. One of the examples they had turned out to be from the CLA. My comment was the screen looked like an afterthought. Everyone else agreed.

Wow just googled it, that's terrible. Looks like someone put a tomtom above the dash vent.

Agreed.

Audi just isn't a vehicle I will ever get excited over... I don't care how good it looks on paper. Too complicated and too many reliability issues with them.
