Not sure why the prevent defense the bolts were playing was utilized. Everytime its used, the Hawks destroy it. The aggressive forecheck at the start of the game is what works. I also think Q figured out the Bolts fairly quickly and adjusted after the first period. First period will be telling in game 2 in terms of coaching as long as neither team shits the bed to start the game.
 
Is no one watching Game 2? Because fucking A, this is one of the most exciting hockey games I've ever seen. Granted, I don't actually watch a lot of hockey, but if they were all like this, I'd be a season ticket holder. Which would be awkward, since there's no NHL team in my state.

This had been an awesome game, but as a lightning fan this is torture lol.

That 3rd hawks goal was complete, unbelievable, unmitigated bullshit. You can't have your stick in the goalie's pads (HOSSA) and have it called a goal. Fucking BULLSHIT.

I loved the fucking commentary too: "Here's the amazing play that set up this crucial hawks goal!" And then the video replay didn't even show where the ref had his whistle in his pocket. THAT was the amazing play. Didn't know the refs were wearing red stripes tonight, but I AM colorblind.

my guess is a case of the runs.

anyway, i cancelled cable last week. for some reason i thought all of the finals were on NBC.

stupidly, they are not. /facepalm

In "not NHL Playoffs" news. We had a hockey tournament in Montclair over the weekend.

My team won all three of it's round robin games (10-1, 5-0, 8-6) then won the final (3-2) Woohoo! I scored five goals in the three games, and I think my line had about 15 altogether, including 7 in the last two games. In the final, I scored the first goal on a deflected point shot, right up into the upper corner over the goalie's shoulder 🙂
 
Another exciting game last night. Chicago's lack of depth on d was exposed on that last goal, cumiskey should have been able to get a body on pauquette but got caught puck watching.
 
Bishop really sold that running into the goalie penalty. Lol at the trainer coming out after that little tap to the head.

Has really been some nail biters on these games.

That one was BS I thought but they still pulled it off in the second.

see what happens tomorrow in the 4th I guess, have been some damned good games.
 
Intellectually I want chicago to win, they're western conference, I'm a kings fan, if the hawks win it just legitimizes the dominance of the western conference even more, and would make two teams having won the cup the last 5 years and cement the legacy of both the kings and the hawks...but I swear every time the hawks score I swear like a drunken sailor on leave because FUCK THE HAWKS.

I don't understand this mentality at all. What does conference have to do with anything?

Also, Chicago winning has nothing to do with the Kings' legacy. 😕
