I'm still deciding if you're fozzy or saint_chief, but no dude, by the third quarter the Chiefs were out of offensive weapons, what little they had to begin with. And don't forget that sideline almost inbound catch by I-didn't-want-to-injure-my-foot Bowe.
No they weren't (I do love how you discount Smith as an offensive weapon though) although if anything that argument actually further helps my point. Why was Reid passing so much with a 38-10 lead? Like I said he sucks at managing games and gave the Colts the clock they needed to make the comeback by keeping Alex throwing like an idiot. And then of course Alex's inability to convert TDs and 3rd downs is what ultimately did them in. He also totally overthrew a wide open running back for what would've been a TD too. But yeah Bowe's 150 yards was all because of Alex (that 63 yard crossing route he used to pull off regularly with Matt Cassel and yet we saw it what maybe twice in 2 seasons?). Nevermind that Bowe was played well by the DB on that play. And let's not forget that those 2 and a half quarters were by far the best Smith has played for the Chiefs. It's not even close either. Hell pretty much anyone that had been watching Smith at all was in outright disbelief over his play in that game. Well until the 4th quarter, when the team needed him the most and then we saw the same player we'd been seeing for years.
Plus, you really think Luck had better weapons that game? Bowe was playing as well as Hilton and the Chiefs supporting cast even with the injuries was comparable to the Colts. The outcome of that game is simple: baller QBs find ways to win games, and mediocre ones don't. It wasn't all Smith's fault, but he absolutely had a hand in their failure.
I knew your investigative skills would be as bad as your football analyzation. I already told you I don't even post on whatever Chiefs board(s) you do where you're obviously just regurgitating knowledge of the team from. Definitely seems to be homer ones that are full of idiots that celebrate things like drafting Eric Fisher. Hell I haven't even posted on the one that I did regularly visit for like 2 years now because specific boards in general are often terrible (definitely are for sports teams), and the mix of Alex Smith killing my interest in the team and his fans being insufferable idiots has made me not bother.
It's 2 years in and things are going pretty much exactly as I predicted. This is the 90s bullshit all over again. Very good (sometimes great) defense wasted on mediocre castoff (and often 49ers for some inexplicable reason) QBs. Yay they're competitive and still don't win jack shit that matters. No one but Chiefs fans remembers them stomping the Pats or beating the Seahawks, they remember the Seahawks and Patriots playing in the Super Bowl.
Weren't you also one of the people going off about the lack of respect for the Chiefs after stomping the Pats and how everything focused on how bad the Pats played? Season's over and it's clear why that's the case. Like I explained to you from the start, I've seen this shit for decades now. Only the fool keeps making the same mistakes and expecting different outcomes.
