I just want to know if the new irs will retrofit into the s197 considering the basis for the design is the production-ready irs prototype originally intended for the 2005 model and scraped at the last minute in favor of saving $98.00 per car production costs.

Thats not really an OEM option per say. SRS is gonna be available for body in white offerings thru their Ford Racing Program. I don`t see the relevance for consumers who are buying their street-legal cars which are all gonna be IRS units.

At this point, without more official information from Ford, Burnout control is the only rumor floating around that might seem legit.
