Reminds me of the Honda Element. Did they hire the same design team :D

Engine choices seem redundant. 1.4-liter @ 160 hp/184 pound-feet of torque or 2.4-liter i4 @ 184 hp/177 lb-ft of torque. Both are pretty 'meh'.

The 500L uses the 'best' engine here and has a 0-60 speed of ~9 sec. Add a few hundred more pounds, and likely less aggressive gearing, and you are looking at closer to 10 seconds. Too under-powered IMO for a car nearing 3400-3500 curb weight (est).

I like it, too, actually. I've never been a major Jeep fan, but I've never loathed them. After reading that article, it actually sounds like it is going to be a very, very nice Jeep, but it'll just cater to more individuals IMO.

i don't get the trend of the cute utes. is there anything good about them? seriously, they seem too small to have useful cargo space, yet are shaped as a vehicle that should. they have a taller stance (higher CoG) than small sedans - or it appears that way to me at least - and yet are similarly sized.

The short length of a small sedan, but with ground clearance and AWD.

I'm sure it'll be very popular with sorority girls, which is sort of the demographic that the little jeeps have always targeted.

It's not really for us.

I like it. I don't see why this is supposedly a chick car. Especially coming from people willing to be seen behind the wheel of a Miata.

If I didn't just get an X1 I would have heavily looked at one of these. Looks fantastic IMO

That's a very good point. Think of almost 2 decades of people trashing on guys willing to drive a Miata before people realized that they were passing on some of the most enjoyable, cheapest, an sportiest track and road cars.

As for me I like it. It's an option for me when my lease comes up. I liked my previous smaller ute, but I like cozy smaller interiors. So for all of my love of my newer Ford Fusion, in all likelihood my next car will be a either Focus, Dart, and as impressive as the interior and the fact that its on a decent platform for the road, this.

What I really want is a Dart SRT-4. Dodge/SRT you have 2 years make it happen. Otherwise even with this it will probably a Focus ST (or very much please bring the RS over here).
