I'm surprised Meredith Vieira is still around. I've seen some of her interviews and the show felt... wrong? Is that the word? The set, audience, tone. It felt too tranquil, so welcoming that it wasn't?

i gotta say the last few episodes of The League were terrible. the worst one of the entire series was the 2nd or 3rd to last one that was animated and was about rafi and seth rogan. and the final hour long episode (maybe 45 minutes i forget) was pretty awful too. sad to see it go out so poorly.

Well, then it's good that the show went out now. More mediocre seasons would have tainted my memory of it.

Girls renewed for a sixth and final season.

You know the show is desperate for ideas when you write scenes like the guy eating his GF out from behind over the kitchen sink. :colbert:

Way too much talk about Draftkings this year. I laughed at a couple episodes but it was pretty meh overall.

CBS has renewed Person of Interest, 13 episode slate. They wrote this season as if it's going to be the last season, but will leave it so that it can be picked up if someone wants to renew it next year. Word is it will be in the SUMMER or FALL lineup this year.

Reminds me to catch up again--I'm still maybe 2 seasons behind...I think? I only catch it on Netflix so I'm always at least 1 season behind, but I may have forgotten the latest refreshes.

So is this current season the final season?

That makes no sense.

How does it make no sense? I am presuming that they're going to finish the war between the machine and samaritan in a way that can give the series closure if this is going to be the final season. But at the same time they're writing it so that IF anybody (CBS or another party) wants to pick the series up after this season is done they are finishing the story arc in such a way that there can be more story written to follow on without totally breaking the prior five seasons (ie: The machine and/or samaritan and/or any of the principle characters won't be dead). At least it's my assumption that they're going to conclude the main samaritan versus machine war story arc, and do so in a grand fashion to make it feel like a series finale.

The information about how this season is going to end is hinted at from Nolan himself as a teaser to fans of the show. He explicitly said they're writing it as if it will be the last season, but there can be more (Person of Interest) story written if so desired.

If you're talking about scheduling, rumor is they're putting it in the summer lineup to go up against favorably weaker shows. I also saw sources quoting fall/winter blocks (September?) for some reason. Nobody seems to have the date set for sure other than saying that the last three episodes are still in production.

it feels like a show for old people that is trying to keep the illusion of being relatively hip with the addition of a roundtable featuring such esteemed hosts like lance bass.

You said it was renewed again for another 13 episode season when the current one hasn't even started airing yet.

We're talking about season 5 right? There were questions on whether or not CBS was even going to pick up season 5 in the first place which lead to the delay which lead to this. This IS about the "current" season - season 5. It was just renewed, won't be aired until summer/fall, will be 13 episodes and will likely be the last season. Does that clarify things?

POI was renewed just a couple days shy of eight months ago, so no you saying there has been a new recent renewal makes no sense.

Yes. The season that just wrapped up was/is the final season.

It was very weak. Every season got worse than the previous with an occasionally good episode thrown in the mix. There's a fine line between potty humor and just being dumb. They crossed that line IMO.

Let the records show though that I watched every episode.

You're correct there. I guess I just connected the dots to figure out what he was talking about.

Thought that was old news by now.

Season 5 was announced as a short run (13 episodes) and it was announced not long after season 4 ended back in May. It was also announced at that time that season 5 could possibly be the last but would be written in a way so as a season 6 could be possible if it were to be renewed again.

Right now it's looking like season 5 will premiere in September of 2016.

So yes...you are posting old news as if it is new.

I was going to avoid using the word geriatric, but there, there it is.

Then why is it coming up as new news on various sites within the last 24 hours? Last thing I heard was CBS left them hanging with no renewal.

Because news sites like regurgitating garbage so they show up at the top of search rankings... seriously.

It's okay, I fall for it everyday.
