You Bastard!

The Executioner is Executed after one season.

ABC seems to thinkg they'll be having content problems (not surprisingly judged by how many shows they already put in the cancel & defacto cancelled category), so Blackish, Middle, Goldbergs, and Fresh Boat all got two extra episode orders.

To be fair the show started horrible and I quit it after 3 episodes in so unless it got much better you saw it getting chopped. ;)

I'm surprised E! put up with it for as long as it did considering he mostly slammed the network's own shows.

The Soup is dead. Last show is in a month, apparently.

I lost interest when they started doing a lot more 'skits' with guests on the show. The last time I saw it I felt they did more of those humorless 'skits' than clips.

I can't see that happening since they just spent the first half of the Flash and Arrow season setting it up.

yeah, that would be hard to backtrack out of.

what are the production cost with that show? when i first saw the promo it looked like a movie.

Aww .... Damn it. That's a pretty good show. Bastards.

But it is a show with a story, and that story is almost over. Summer can't last forever.

Personally, I like that some producers are willing to end a show when it is over. I think that TV could produce some amazing stories if they were willing to do this more.

It's actually season 2 that's rumored to be canceled due to costs. Season 1 comes out in January.

Well yes, it's not like they're not going to air a show they've already produced.

And I forgot to mention it, but anyone who had recording going last Sunday on the main networks, you may be missing content due to a 15ish minute preemption at 8.

Wayward pine, homeland, and the affair renewed.

Amazon adds showtime and starz streaming service, however you also need to have prime to purchase the auxiliary services.

ANOTHER season of Homeland? They are really milking that thing.
I've watched every episode, but they really need to end it.

Person of Interest has no premiere date right now, it's being dicked around and will probably be the last season. Potential summer 2016 show, WTF? Since when were 8-9 million viewers bad?

Just started watching it, only 5 eps into season one. I hate when a show drags on so long you just wish it were over. They just need to learn when to end on a high note and move on to something else.

The problem seems to be that CBS hasn't been willing to kill any of its existing shows that are running at the moment, even very weak ones like CSI Cyber or Elementary. Plus it had NFL football take about 8 Thursdays so there's really been no place for PoI on the schedule.

Isn't this going to be the season when the Machine takes on Samaritan? I was looking forward to that after being constantly knocked down last season.

It seems like it's setting up for that, though from what I remember of the S4 finale, the Machine and the team were in big trouble.

Oh definitely. They just barely saved the Machine in the finale and we still don't know if it's in tact although I might be wrong about that. If the Machine was going to beat Samaritan, that would have been truly epic given where they are now.

i think PoI is different than most shows, where CBS doesn't own the exclusive rights to the show. so it is disadvantageous to them in some way which i don't exactly recall.

Yeah, I'm really interested to see how they fight their way out of the situation at the end of the finale and then build up to be able to match Samaritan.

Probably you mean syndication; WB produces the show so CBS only makes money from the ads they show during a viewing of it. WB gets the money from selling rebroadcasts to other networks (plus physical media, streaming, etc). Given the choice between an equally rated show that its makes vs a third-party, a network will almost pick its own show.

This appears to be the main reason. CBS doesn't own it, so it has no interest in the show lasting longer for syndication.

I don't know why no other network has picked it up though.

WGN America picked up PoI in syndication...but, of course, that's only for the older seasons...

It's odd that CBS hasn't announced whether it will return for the next season or not...still not on the 2016 line-up.
