There is nothing wrong with the GT-R...but I would take this WAY over the GT-R. Every porsche I have driven or ridden in has been the closest to automotive ideal as I could imagine.

I have to say that if I really were to buy a new Porsche...it would be one with a proper manual...so I guess I would be stuck with a Carrera S. Even the GT3 has a PDK now.

I love th GT-R, but style wise, it's not that exciting.

I just keep looking at that Porsche, and it really is the most beautiful Porsche I've ever seen. Gorgeous car. Now I just have to come up with $182K somehow.

The GTR is 100K now, like 30K less than a Turbo. So I don't know about that.

The regular Turbo has an even greater performance gap with the GT-R. Isn't the more comparable Turbo S almost $200k?

Their owners don't post on Anandtech. Corolla owners and guys who lease BMW 3 series do. And they're the ones most frequently shooting off their mouths about which supercar is not good enough for them. It's the automotive equivalent of pointy elbows.

Yeah sure, but I'm pretty sure most people who buy 180K cars own other 100K+ cars. That is usually the case. So They can usually afford both. So they get whatever they want. When the GTR was 50K I could see people buying who couldn't afford a 911 Turbo or F430. Now with the GTR at 100K I think anyone who is seriously looking to buy one can most probably afford a car that is 70K more cause the GTR is not going to be their daily driver. So they are likely to own other expensive cars.

Just IMO. Maybe the F430 can correct me if I'm wrong, but I live in a pretty rich area (not rich myself) and In the car parks it's usually 911, Cayenne, M5 or Gallardo, ML63, RS4 or whatever multi 100K combination.

No, not every person here owns a $10k used car, but pretty much no one here owns a $150k+ car and is speaking from experience. Someone thinks someone here owns a McLaren. That's one person out of 8000+ active users here which is statistically 0.

Why does Porsche sell them? Because there are an estimated 11 million millionaires in the world today. That is a lot of potential customers. But again, relative to the world population, that's only .15% of the population which equates to almost no one.

There are clearly people who see some sort of sense in it, otherwise exotics would not exist.
