What sucks about e-readers is you cannot read technical books on them... pdfs are not so good either... You need to fiddle with 3rd party apps to reflow text just for some pdfs to become readable or use epub format.

I think for the developers of these devices to assume people will only read "text only" books is ridiculous... What about programming books? CISCO? etc, etc... Sure ,there's an iPad and Nexus 10, but those are too expensive and I really don't need color.

There was also a giant Kindle DX, but really it's just a bid turd, and still inst very good for pdfs...

I haven't really tried it, but I bet my hacked (Cyanogenmod) Nook HD+ would be pretty nice for this sort of thing. It was dirt cheap too, got it for $110.

Amazon probably knows what kind of books people read on their Kindles, and I bet technical books and random pdfs are quite low on the list so they don't cater to them.

So Kobo just released the Kobo Glo HD, which has specs similar to the Kindle Voyage but will retail for $130 which is way less. I really hope this causes a price drop on the Voyage.
