face it, 5 cents of fuel for a 12 second run is just freakish!!
Lets say it is 5 times that. OHh, a quarter per quarter mile 😛

That agrees with me as far as I can tell. There isn't 1/2 mile after the finish line to roll out in, except if you have an emergency and aren't turning back to race again. If you are turning back to race again, you have 1/4 mile at most to slow down and make the turn.

What is the Corvette's cost per run? fifty cents?

2mpg
3.60/gallon
3.60/8= 45 cents?

Is that in the ball park?

It's very impressive that the Tesla does as well as it does. I look forward to seeing what another generation or two's worth of improvements do to the concept.

1280+2560 = less than 4000 feet.
You have to be kidding me about the fuel burn on a run. 2MPG?
My 1.9 TDI beetle will show that on a hard pull! 😛

Sure.

Cargo:
Tesla S: 66 cu/ft
E63 Wagon: 57.4 cu/ft

Acceleration? That's anyone's guess, but I sure would like to see a 1/4mi drag race between them.

From Tesla: Rear cargo volume (seats up/down): 744.7/1645.2 liters (58.0 cubic feet)

E63 wagon 1/4 mile:

Standing ¼-mile: 11.7 sec @ 122 mph

Space is a wash and the E63 is a bit faster.

Both sweet cars tho.

The specs seem to say the turn off is 1/4 mile after the finish line, meaning 1/4 mile to slow down and make the turn to go back and run again.
