2013 Steam Summer Sale! DEAD

That's dumb. So there is basically no way to complete badges without buying cards or getting stupid lucky?

Just like regular trading cards?

I don't sweat it too much. By the morning, I'll be able to get my summer getaway badge, and I'm not too bothered about leveling it up. I need to get more games eligible for booster packs, though. That might help my chances, I'll 'only' be level 14. That's casually trading, and zero of my money invested. I know some the more serious guys around here have done much better, but I'd rather play an actual game than a stock market meta.

so are the cards going to be worth anything after the sale? Basically should I sell them all now or keep them to see if prices go up later?

The regular game cards will continue to drop, I believe, but the Summer Sale ones will likely stop. Those are plummeting in price, but unless they disappear after the Sale, they will come back up.

Since they're marketable and you can buy them on the market, I don't think they'll disappear after the sale.

What's the difference between FO: NV and the ultimate edition? (Sorry if this was answered already).

Also, any one play that Reus game yet? Looks pretty cool, and only $5.

Edit: Looks like FO: NV UE comes w/ all the DLC stuff. For $5, hell yeah I'm getting it.

Edit 2: Think Reus will go any lower than 50% off? Or is this the lowest since it's a daily deal.

Price of them will go back up since they will no longer drop. How much depends on the market for those wanting to craft the badge.

I agree. In fact I think the prices of all cards will go back up. Trick is picking which card sets will be the most popular (actually that's not tricky at all).

I strongly, strongly, strongly recommend Max Payne 3. It's without a doubt the most detailed, well-designed, expertly-engineered, adrenaline-fueled action game I've ever played. I payed $60 for it on release and I don't regret it one bit. $10 is highway robbery. It's a masterpiece of gaming.

you mean the 5 minutes you get to play between each 30 minute cut scene?

sweet jesus, that explains the 35 gig install

definitely picking up dishonored, maybe max payne 3

I hope they have Prison Architect on sale soon... really want to play that game, but $30 sounds steep.

Funny, out of the 10 games I've bought so far, the one I've been playing the most, is a game I've beaten numerous times in the past - System Shock 2.

You got the answer on Fallout - right pick to get the DLC version.

Reus should not go down more this sale.

I'm positive it will be a daily deal.

Each of the games that are one of the Summer Getaway cards has been a daily deal each day.

Deus Ex HR won the vote

damn it...in a strange way, I get "screwed" again.

Bought Deus Ex HR during...Christmas 2011 sale? for $7.50, I think. Hell, maybe it was $15. I had never installed it.

And only last week, I went ahead and installed it and it will be the next game I play once BL2 slows down for me. So, it's as if I should have just waited 1.5 years later.

😀

Hm, started skyrim (13gb) for the cards, it said it had to convert the program to a more efficient format, then said it failed for lack of space (1gb free).

Funny thing, now it shows the program isn't installed when it was, but it didn't free up almost any disk space to be able to reinstall. Opened a ticket.

Need to see if it lost save games and settings.

I'd be furious if I lost my nude mods.
