McPixel has the cheapest cards I've seen, but the set is 13 cards. I just sold the card drops for this, and basically got the game for free and $.15.

I completed the TF2 lvl 5 badge yesterday, by sniping cards when they fell to $.15. This is the better deal, if you can get them for that price (8x.15 vs 13x.12).

Does your friend have his community badge done? That is free xp for doing things like viewing a guide in the Steam Overlay and commenting on a friend's profile. You can get 200xp for getting it to lvl 2.

Yes the friend has the community badge and it's lvl2. He just is fairly new and doesn't have a lot of games so not much help on the years of experience badge and the game collector badge.

thanks for pointing out my flaw in McPixel. TF2 was my second choice (I leveled in that doing exactly what you did....snagged the cards at about $.15/each).

Just noticed some new games with cards - SR3 and Skyrim.

Pro tip - check the prices on these two game's cards today. Yesterday when Bioshock Infinite got cards, they were selling for around $.25 (and less than a dollar for foils). Today the regular cards are going for around $.40 and the foils $1.50+.

Will be sniping low price sellers for both these new games today. Already got an Azura foil for $.58, which I resold nearly instantly for $1.30.

They look cool as hell, but got such crappy reviews/low metacritic scores.

The Walking Dead is an incredible story-driven adventure game, and is a must-have for $6. If you don't have it already, you should buy it now.

Just Cause 2 is a no-brainer for $2.99. Open-world action game with an environment the size of a small country.

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 is a whopping 85% off, and the lowest price I've ever seen for it, although it kind of is a mediocre game.

FTL is also a very fun and addictive "space roguelike", well worth two bucks.

Nothing really. They're just very linear, scripted, cheesy "Call of Duty" style military shooters, but with a focus on sniping. Remember the sniping mission from Call of Duty 4? Sniper: Ghost Warrior is like an entire game of that. Some people like it, some people don't.

Today is definitely a good day, if you don't have any of those games. I forgot to mention Grimrock; that's a great dungeon-crawler as well.

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is also only $6.74 right now.

That will most likely go on sale on a flash/daily deal for 75% off, that is a common sale price for that game. Wait. Read my golden rule in the OP 😛

It is totally worth it though. I really liked BL1, it has my fav character in either game in it as well, Lilith, I wish Gearbox would make her as DLC for BL2 even if it wouldn't make sense with the story 😛

I played BL1 when it originally came out, and didn't think too much about it.. Likely, I was already playing something else, so it didnt get a fair shot and I never went back to it..

I'm on my 2nd playthrough of BL2 & just bought the DLC. It is such a fantastic game, I think it warrants a revisit of 1 once I am done with 2's DLC and Civ5

Hehe, this reminds me of the guy on the Rock Band forums who had registered years ago with a Miley Cyrus fan name, then never could get it changed after he got older. We gave him a hard time about it. 😀

A few big sales ago Steam changed daily deals to last 2 days instead of 1. Main reason was a lot of people played the whole I want this game that is on sale today but it depends on what is on sale tomorrow so people were waiting for that 1-2 minute overlap of the sales to see if purchasing the older day sale was a go for them.

Anno 2070 is a great game. The DRM sucks balls yes, but the devs will help you if you run into problems with it. They didn't want the DRM on it but it wasn't up to them.
