So according to Kaotik's explanation of it, people are paying money and idling in games...so they can get an emoticon and a background? I don't know what xp towards your profile means, but unless it means anything significant, that sounds...stupid.

Anyway back to the sales discussion...cmon Dishonored, win the vote!

The exp levels up your profile. It so far seems to unlock just extra stuff for your profile like more showcases and stuff, nothing significant that I know of.

Stupid or not, you can make some money doing it with nearly no effort on your part. Launch game go about doing stuff normally do and collect the cards. Put the cards on the market and get Steam wallet. I made about $50 doing it since I had gotten a foil card and a couple of rare emoticons/backgrounds.

You do not have to pay money.

You can buy cards if you want on the market. But you can also sell them. If you wanted, you could play all your games that drop cards, sell the cards and get money in your steam wallet good towards buying games.

I sold a bunch of cards to get a few cards to add a background to my profile of a game i really like.

Didn't cost me anything except a few minutes of time.

Is there a way to get the normal home screen of Steam up? I'd like to see how many people are online right now.

It is really good. It only takes a couple of hours but I got my money's worth when it was $19.99. There is nothing else like it.

Speak for yourself on a couple hours. I spent a lot lonter and haven't finished.

Otherwise ya it's a creative game great for people who like that gameplay.

I'll probably buy Dishonored at $9.99 if it wins the vote. Not interested in anything else on the daily deals. I want Skyrim and Tomb Raider for $10 each.

Wonder if Counter Strike Global is worth it, I don't like FPS that much and didn't play the first CS, but looks like it could be some fun.

Well, I had 8 mystery cards after buying some up for around 85 cents each. Sold most for $2 each and have 3 left now that they've all gone under 75 cents each. Going to wait until they go back up from no longer being available I think.

...as long as you own those games that offer cards though, correct?

But you don't even have to own ANY games to get a card. Just vote three times and Steam will give you a card (as long as you have a Steam level of 5 or above.....which would be difficult, but not impossible, to get without owning ANY games).

Spent about 10 bucks so far.

McPixel - sucked. It was 99 cents and I feel like it should have been more like 25 cents. The music is great, though.
Demigod - Don't know a lot about it but it was $2.49 and looked interesting.
Scribblenauts - Gameplay looks fun and different. I'll try it this weekend.
Ion Assault - a total blast. I just played about 90 minutes and it's very good. I'm not even a fan of space shooters but I like this.

Well played!

I sold all my mystery cards (all two) for $1/each just before the Steam sale started. I thought Steam would disappoint. I didn't expect the stupdity displayed in the Steam market (people really willing to pay that much for something that will be worth a lot less in a few hours/days).

Never ever bet against people's stupidity!

People will pay ridiculous amounts to be "first"
