2013 Steam Holiday Sale! SALE IS OVER

Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons - even if it did not win the vote, it still is 50% off during this Winter Sale.

There is also a chance that it will get a bigger discount as a Daily Deal. If not, 50% off should still be a good price for this game (this is not an expensive game, even at full price).

i might have been one of them-i just randomly click on shit for those :\

When in doubt I pick the lowest priced game.

Hopefully this allows someone who is struggling financially to buy a game.

I can see some kid telling his parents "mom, its only $1.50 for this game." Kid gets a cheap game he plays all through christmas break.

Nether just gave everyone 72 hour guest passes while Steam SSL cert fixes work itself out.

I got Nether working yesterday, the game is visually awesome. You can really tell its a Unreal engine game by the design. The game world is HUGE. Being ALpha lots of little bugs, but its playable. I only played <2 hours but it has a Dayz feel about it, but more fluid. I get the scared/panic feeling when a Player is around, or you walk around a corner and a monster spawn is there. lol

The game is a resource HOG, my 780 Ti will drop to 30ish fps with AA on high. Lucky the game defaults to low settings.

This is EXACTLY what I do - for the same reason!

I've taken some screenshots in Nether that are just spectacular. Other times, it looks terrible! The ability to go 20 stories up in a lot of buildings and the size of the city are impressive.

I need to get back into it and see how it is coming along. The last time I was on, it seemed like they slowed the walking speed down way too much.

Here are my trial keys, if anyone wants one...

Finally bit the bullet and grabbed the Max Payne trilogy, taking a break from getting anything else until tomorrow or Thursday, after I get Christmas money (or...Steam gift cards???). I might grab Castle Crashers for $3.75, but I'll probably have to convince my cousin to get it so we can co-op, because it's not great alone. Other than that, just going to keep watching my Wishlist.

Guess I'll finally get Braid. Heard great things but never actually saw the trailer until today for some reason...can't go wrong for $2.

Voted for Doorways for the next deal. I've passed on Amnesia so far since it banks a bit too much on the helplessness factor for my taste, but this seems to strike the right balance.

If you do every little thing in the game Skyrim provides at least 500 hours of entertainment.

Thats easily worth 7.50.

If you spend some time downloading mods you can have more stuff to do and more adventures (people make whole new campaigns). You get even more hours from that and at no cost.

What is up with these votes?

The fact that they're really plugging the indie games this season or the contenders are really random (i.e. rigged)? Yeah, noticed that too. Disappointed that Doorways didn't win but not surprised. It would've been the cheapest, but these votes are usually based on whatever happens to be the most "accessible." Hexagons will win this one, no doubt.

Anyone play Rise of Venice?

It's metascore kind of stinks, but it's by the same devs that make Tropico, which I love.

My login issue was fixed, but the game was a pretty big disappointment. Wander around looting stuff until you get killed. When you die, you lose your character (not just your equipment, but your XP, stats, levels, etc.) Pretty boring, and the server select screen was laggy and crashed a few times on me. I didn't notice any performance problems with the same video card though.

So, Rome II. I spent more hours in Rome TW and Medieval II than any other game except BF2 and Everquest; but will I quickly adapt to Rome II? Bearing in mind that one thing I hate is 2 minute waits between turns, especially if it starts early.

Rome II is basically the same but with a few more options and much better graphics. Its not a completely different game.
Only the most finicky of Total War players would dislike it.

Yay, more xmas gifts for my son! RPG Maker crap is on sale! DLC packs ftw!!!

I still can't believe I missed DuckTales. Steam sales have been so lackluster I didn't even pay attention to this one being here until well after it started. Oops.

I'm surprised we haven't seen a Valve game as either part of a daily deal or a flash sale.....at least that I can recall.

No......Half Life, Half Life 2, Team Fortress, Garry's Mod, L4D, L4D2, Portal, Portal2......nothing.

I guess Valve figures they've saturated the market by now?

Oh god yeah, then with mods it gets even bigger. I did an entire play through as Link with the Master Sword. That was satisfying. :awe:

Sadly I have to scale back my steam purchases since I already bought the PS4 last month and my backlog is still pretty big right now. Spent too much money as is with xmas shopping too. I might still get Dishonoured. I like a nice meaty game that will keep me busy for a while.

Well it is beta/aplha, and the game is meant to be hardcore, that is pretty common with these type of games. The game is meant to be played like DayZ. Sneak around loot stuff.

You can save items fyi in safe areas.

I really enjoy Super Hexagon as much as the next guy, but why the heck would you vote for it for a special price!? The game was 50 cents. You can't even buy a pack of Winterfresh gum for the amount of money that you save with it being on sale! 😱
