I saw three of these on Alligator Alley in Florida last weekend. They were driving in a caravan with Michigan Manufacturer plates trailing a black Jeep GC.

Other than being filthy....these things are gorgeous in person.

Okay, I couldn't read the page because it has apparently beaten AdBlock...crap all over the place and a bunch of noise...

...it looks nice. A little C6-ish in the front, but it's a pretty natural evolution from the older Vipers.

Still got that truck motor in it? :p

Also, I hope they'll fix a few things...like the burn-your-ass wide door sills...general lack of amenities...ect...

Not because I really care that much...I think the Corvette should just be sold as a stripped-out track car. But I want to see the Viper be competitive, rather than Dodge just saying, 'well, this is what we wanted, so this is what we did! *immediately goes bankrupt*'

You have not been reading the first impressions so far. For the most part they have been glowing stating that the car is significantly more refined, while still retaining its edge...and the sills will still burn your legs... Quite whining! ;-)

That car is just so hot. Reminds me of how good looking the first GTS coupe was. I was never a fan of the 2003ish body style, but this looks freaking mint. Sorta has some Ferrari 599 in the front and some Aston in the back.

Weird, I only saw one small ad in the top right corner, and I don't block ads at all.

This is the car I would have if I could justify the cost and the impracticality.

Since I can't, I don't/won't!

This car has replaced the GTR at the top of my list of "affordable" supercars. I'll probably still never be able to afford it.. but I can dream.

The page is normal now...no background noise. Odd.

I was looking through the photos...that thing is pretty damned gorgeous.

I don't know if I believe their praising of the interior, though. It seems a lot like the 'vette to me....don't be bothered with actual engineering; just cover things in leather with bulky stitching, 'cause that = high end. I'd much rather have well-made fake materials than leather covering creaky thin plastic.

But that's just pessimism...well, realism...I could certainly be wrong. But I can just already so vividly feel those silver plastic parts flexing and creaking in my hands...

Also, for being so supposedly totally redesigned, I'm wondering why they kept the HMMVW-like center console. It seems much better than before, but I think I'd prefer some round edges. I guess maybe that design is just kind of a signature of the car.

edit: staring at it more, and thinking about how I'd be seated in it...I think that console would actually really get on my nerves. I have long arms and I'm pretty sure my elbow would jammed into that thing all the time. I'd end up all Egor-looking with a higher right shoulder...

it's hard to stuff a 6 speed transmission under the floor when the floor is inches off the ground.

I think they look great. Would love to own one. Maybe in a few years...
I hope the c7 is just as good as this.

What? Reading and photo comprehension fail? They say (and I'll quote this verbatim), " it not only smells wonderful, but it is hand down the nicest interior I've ever seen from a domestic automaker."

Seriously. Leather lined dashboard from the same supplier that sells it to way Ferrari.

Project much? I think you failed to read and/or comprehend what I was saying. If I was hard to understand, basically: 1) I generally don't trust the opinions of magazines for things like perceived build quality. Reviewers talked about how improved the C6's interior was, too...sorry, but that crap is just as cheap and rattly as an 80's C4. 2) Photos are...photos. Again, look at the Corvette. Photos don't tell you the body feels like cheap tupperware. I was simply trying to express that YES, it looks very good in the photos, but that often does not translate to actual felt quality.

Again- I'd rather have a part made of some of the newer synthetic materials (sturdily-made 'soft touch' stuff and whatnot) than one made of thin, brittle plastic and then hand-wrapped in leather. I didn't say that was the case with this car (how could I know?) just that I fear it may be based on previous encounters with these types of cars. No one here has a 2013 Viper, so ITT: speculation.

I don't agree with the author when he says that stalling the car in first is nearly impossible because of the engine's inertia. It's the torque available at idle.

I've driven stock 90's Chevy trucks that would take off in first (normally; not in 4-low) with no throttle input. It's not exactly that mean a feat.

But that kinda goes back to my point...for the 'professionals' that they are, writers for C&D/R&T/ect often aren't exactly the best qualified critics.

Isn't the goal for a large sports/super car engine usually relatively low inertia? You don't need a heavy flywheel to help out an 8.4L V10...

I saw one in person, I like it, it's much improved and makes a nice sound.

But, I'm getting (as in building) one of these instead as my weekend fun car:

Faster, more fun, half the price, and personally I think it's more attractive.

What brand? Cobra kits are cool and all, but they're just so 'played out,' so to speak. Factory Five has like six kits, and I'd build five of them before I would the Cobra...

Ugh... Can you be positive, for once? Or at the very least stop ragging on everyone's opinion simply because it doesn't match yours.

If he wants to build a cobra kit then WTF is your issue? He's building what he likes/wants, who cares if it's.... "played out"

Oh noes he mentioned kit cars and I felt like talking about kit cars. Shame on me.

The funny thing about text- it's hard to get a sure interpretation of the attitude of the person writing it. For instance, what you write makes you appear to be an ignorant, narcissistic, conceited moron who looks to the internet to reinforce his own misguided delusions of limitless self-worth.

...but hey, like I said, it's just text. How could I know?

edit: also I liked your troll account, thanks for the insightful commentary.
