The air times for these postseason games re one of the first things they need to change. But short term $$$$$ has such a grasp on that sport it isn't funny.

I think any sport would take the short term earnings.
Edit: Also, the air times are around 5PM on the west coast which is kind of early for those getting out of work.

And attendance boost may be in part to a large part of their fan base being able to attend more games as they are in retired land, which will seems good would actually indicate a problem.

Seems ratings for the first game were also lower than that gripping MNF match between giants and vikings.

I gotta disagree about that. I've been to plenty of red Sox, yankees and mets games and their fans aren't old at all. Furthermore, Monday night football is more of an event to bullshit and drink with friends at the bar. Imo people who watch baseball care about the game being played.

Is that the last game? I haven't followed a thing since the Braves were eliminated.

What the heck was that call at 3rd base? Is it for real? How can you tell that was intentional or accidental?

I want the Red Sox to win but I think they're definitely the underdogs in this series. Red Sox starting pitching isn't as good. I hope Peavy is a little better this time.
And the Sox can't field either. Great last 2 games.

doesn't matter apparently. intentional or not, obstruction is obstruction. No other call to make there.

But what was Middlebrooks supposed to do there?!

First off he should have at least knocked down the ball in the 7th that led to a double, then Salty really had no chance to get Craig at third but he throws a rocket that middlebrooks can't even put a mitt on that one either. As for closer Uehara, he's been terrific but he's gotten into a routine that hitters are picking up on, throw a 90MPH fastball for a first strike then come with the devastating splitter, batters are now swinging first-pitch on him to avoid the almost unhittable splitter.

I don't think Craig saw Middlebrooks until after he looked up to stand up.. totally surprising him. Probably would've tripped over him whether Mbrooks legs were up or not. Nonetheless that's the rule. Intent doesn't matter, apprently. Somehow Jim Joyce ends up in situations like this.

eh, plenty people would fairly react in disbelief soon after something like that happens. It was so bizarre, and in a WS, no less.

I guess the call was correct by the rules, interesting that Craig made no attempt to side-step around Middlebrook's legs, choosing instead to try and plow through them, maybe he's smarter than most would think, dangerous play by Salty though, throwing a dart to a shaky third baseman with little to no chance to nail him, let your closer try for the third out. In any event it should be a good series in the end, tonight's game was great, (except the Sox lost )

Exactly, and we'll never know whether it was intentional or accidental. It certainly isn't obvious from the 10 replays that I've seen, yet I do believe that the umpires got it right. And they didn't hesitate whatsoever when making the call.
