2013 Malibu leaked...

http://www.autoblog.com/2011/04/14/2013-chevrolet-malibu/

Looks to me like a cross between the old Chevy Malibu, the Buick Lacrosse, and the Ford Taurus...but in a good way...all the "good pieces". I do think it looks a little bloated like the Lacrosse though. Will be interesting if the engines are all carry overs, or if they will offer some new engine options with turbos.

Here is some additional teaser images of the rear headlights and the interior:

Looks good.
But looks like it may be bigger, which it should not. The Malibu is supposed to be a Mid size car and the impala is the large chevy.

Actually, the size is essentially unchanged per this guy.

The clamshell hood reminds me of the new Taurus!

edit: @Marlin - Thanks for pointing that part out! I should've read the whole blog . . .

"2013 Malibu is wider than the current model,"

Seems like it will be wider, which the picture also seems to show.

My dad has the current gen Malibu and had the old gen
Current is WAY nicer but I still didn't really like it, the 2013 model is a lot closer IMO

The current 'bu is criticized for cramped quarters compared to its competitors. The increased width might help with shoulder space.

Looks good. But yet another fleet car since it's a malibu. Not sure if that's a bad thing or not but I tend to veer away from cars that are used predominantly by rental companies.

Looks like they jammed a Chevy SUV and an Opel Insignia together, which is not bad looking really. My only issue is the overall design language isn't that coherent, and the back end with the square tailight rings and beveled edges just doesn't look great to me. Interior's pretty nice looking though.

the fleet car is so so different. special cheaper panels everywhere. they have different part #'s are everything.

you can rent accords and camarys, lexus's, mustangs ETC so I've never understood the argument

Styling changes should lead with your flagship, not your econobox, morons. That's the biggest Aveo I've ever seen.

which for chevy the flagship would be? the impala? who cares?

its not going to share styling with vette or camaro

Looks good, but some of it really does remind me of the Taurus.

I want to get a good look at the back. The tail lights look interesting but depending on the rest of the back end they may not fit very well.

yup, looks really good (for a Chevy). The grill should not be chrome mesh, or like Ford's honeycomb shape and in matte.

so if the all the line up looks like the flagship, then the midpack one will eventually looks like the econobox then no?
