Here's something interesting from TNT and Steven Spielberg:

Portal House
This project is the story of a group of young scientists who, while investigating what they believe to be a haunted house, stumble upon a portal into the time-space continuum. Things then take a turn for the worse when one of their own vanishes into the portal.

Oh yeah, I saw this one. It was called Sliders I think. :-D

Which was pretty good at the beginning so rebooting the idea sounds like an interesting show.

Just looked over the CBS schedule... They put Hawaii-Five-O in the Friday death slot, so one more season of that and it's probably toast.

It might be able to stay around for a few years. I've heard that the state gives them discounts and such for filming on location.

Bones also gets moved to the Friday death knell during mid-season. I wouldn't be surprised if the show ends soon as it has been feeling a bit long in the tooth.

Quick bit of fun trivia... what's the one show that was quite successful while it aired on Friday nights?

I love the background music in that trailer... I just don't know why the name is significant.

Do you mean why it's significant to me or where you've heard it before? There are actually three songs in the trailer (I originally only watched about half the trailer).

The songs go...

  • Two Steps from Hell - Heart of Courage
  • Two Steps from Hell - Freedom Fighters
  • Two Steps from Hell - Archangel
You've probably heard the first two before as they've been used in other advertisements. Freedom Fighters was featured in the Star Trek reboot's trailer, and that was actually the first time that I had really noticed Two Steps from Hell. I think Heart of Courage was in some Mass Effect trailer among other things. I don't know if Archangel has been in anything, but it's the best song (in my opinion) off the Archangel album.

"Once Upon a Time in Wonderland" - the hell?

"Once Upon a Time" has been to Wonderland 2 or 3 times... I hope it's not a spin-off.

I still don't watch Castle, but it's good to see Nathan Fillion on a successful, long running show. Summer Glau... Damn, I love her, but... Damn.

huh about Summer Glau?

Ho.Ly. Shit.

Once Upon a Time in Wonderland is a spin-off series, and it looks amazing:

Low expectations on the CGI because it looks the exact same as the stuff used in Once Upon a Time, but the tone seems a lot darker and more serious.

And the SHIELD thing is a Joss Whedon series. We'll see how long that lasts.

hm.. Wonderland. the quuen of hearts is the mother of the evil queen in Once upon a time?
I'm assuming snow White is the equivalent to Wonderland's alice?
and yeah, she (Alice) isnt the best looking for a lead actress.

Joss whedon series on TV?
guarenteed to be canceled by 2nd season

In general. You're not the first one I've seen ID the name of the song like it's really popular -- guess it is having been in at least one popular movie trailer.

Everything she's in gets cancelled and she hasn't had a long running series yet. No fault of hers because she's hot and a pleasure to watch.

Sounds like they might bring Cora, the mother of the Evil Queen in the current Once Upon a Time, in if she's available. Same for the Mad Hatter. That trailer used a lot of shots from the existing show.

Series seems heavy on the female leads -- not a problem with that.

It's a Joss Whedon show, but this one's based on a comic (?), so it might last a few seasons. I just saw the trailer for it and recognize the dude from Angel. I think I saw Eliza Dushku?

saw the trailers for:
Dracula:
Almost Human
Sleepy Hollow

i'm onboard for all 3. production values look very expensive on all 3. almost human looks like it will have the hardest time keeping up the impressive visuals given the number of visual effect shots. sleepy hollow looks like it will have the hardest time not wallowing in the "american treasure" and "davinci code" tropes the trailer used. im amazed this is on broadcast tv.

i'll be watching Agents of Shield regardless.

the move to tue@10 for POI troubles me. later in prime time means they can show more violence and go with darker stories, but it typically comes at the cost in general ratings share.

edit: mid season follow up for dracula
Crossbones

John Malkovich as blackbeard the pirate, need i say more?

I was completely shocked to learn that Person of Interest pulls in the high-ish ratings it does. This show's about as big a deviation from the CBS procedural as exists on that network right now (among dramas). As long as they don't neuter it like they did with Big Bang Theory when it became successful, I'm fine with whatever timeslot they air PoI in.

Why does CW keep fucking around with Supernatural's day? :colbert: Good thing its core audience is younger and savvy enough to keep up with the changes and keep its ratings afloat.

You try to do such a thing to a show watched by foggy minded old geezers and its ratings would take a dump to cancellation.

I love Supernatural but it needs to go..they've pretty much run it into the ground since season 5 ended. It just seems pointless and no real path now...almost like "oh..we stopped satan, but nothing changed..oh well onward."

I keep thinking at some point 'god' will finally show up and that will be the end of the show.

I remember the producers of Lost explain how starting with season 4 they were moving a lot of the filming to studios in Burbank because it cost a lot more money to film in Hawaii. They said even a bit part actor had to be flown to Hawaii and stay at least an overnight. Actors "on location" get more money, the show had to pay for the hotel and airfare, and if they needed them back to reshoot even the smallest scene they had to do it all over again. Not to mention that everything just costs more in Hawaii since it is shipped via the US mainland.

seems that if nbc doesnt pickup Hannibal, there are some cable options and even some interest from amazon.
