"JUNIOR MASTERCHEF"??? really?? because watching kids cook will be much more interesting than watching adults..

Almost Human looks interesting.

Almost Human is a police drama set 35 years in the future, when police officers are partnered with highly evolved human-like androids. The year is 2048. Meet John Kennex (Keith Urban), a cop who survived one of the most catastrophic attacks ever made against the police department.

I'm assuming that it is Karl Urban and not Keith Urban right? 😛 Otherwise, Fox is mixing up its reality and scripted programming in a strange way. That said, it is an interesting premise.

So "Go On" is gone? Goddammit....

And they nixed "Happy Endings" too. Ah well, Community was renewed, so all is not lost.

“THE MICHAEL J. FOX SHOW” well I'll predict big ratings for the first show just because of MICHAEL J. FOX and you can see they are banking on the name alone.

HaHa! Yes, you must be right. Its Karl Urban better known as Bones McCoy and Judge Dredd.

I watched the trailers for the new FOX shows, and overall, the line-up looks decent. I'm probably going to check out all of them except for Dads and Rake. Dads... maybe it was the laugh track or the fact that the humor felt too forced, but the show just turned me off... much unlike the Asian in the school-girl outfit. 😉 As for Rake, the character seems interesting, but after I thought about it more, it's just Hank Moody as a lawyer instead of a writer. Since it's on FOX, there won't even be any titties! Half the reason you watch Californication is to see the hot chicks. 😛

As for the decent looking shows...

Almost Human is probably the best looking out of all of them. Now that Fringe is off the air, there really aren't any good Sci-Fi shows left. The only bad thing that I noticed with the trailer is some of the dialog felt... off or maybe even flat. My current question is... what is the main draw of the show? Are they going to have some over-arching storyline or just a sort of crime-of-the-week? Also, I really hope that they avoid the one thing that annoys me about Sci-Fi or nerdy shows in general: stupid names for things/organizations. For example, I was watching some old Chuck episodes the other day, and I got to see some of the golden names like "Fulcrum" or "The Ring." Ugh... so much cheese... lactose intolerant!

Sleepy Hollow looks interesting, but I'm worried about one thing: it's an occult-related mystery based around a singular thing. The problem with these sorts of mystery shows is that at times, they tend to just get weirder and weirder because they're stuck. For example, the show is based around Ichabod Crane and The Headless Horseman. How do you make the concept last without it becoming stale? Will this essentially become like Supernatural where they just keep finding a bigger baddie that's behind the previous big baddie to take on? Keep in mind that as shows do this, they tend to fall into the exact same trap that I talked about above: they get super cheesy.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine looks interesting and a little inane at the same time. However, it's got President Dwayne Elizondo Herbert Mountain Dew Camacho, so I'm forced to give it a watch. It had some amusing scenes in the trailer, so even if it turns out to be not a raucously funny show, it might still be fun.

Enlisted looks okay, but yet again... I worry about how the shtick holds up. The whole "misfits in a camp/organization" works well for a movie or maybe a season or two, but eventually... the concept gets tired. Those sorts of things just don't have the room to evolve unless your characters aren't tied together so you can always pull new people in.

I almost forgot about Us & Them, which looks like more of a feel-good comedy. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but those tend to not be as funny... to me at least. There were some amusing-looking scenes in the trailer, and the lead actress is really cute, so I'll probably give it a go.

Well, ABC has the new SHIELD show I will probably watch.

I'm really wary of that show. The problem is that it'll most likely be your typical secret agent/agency style show, but with a well-known name rather than some random name that they pulled out of the Box o' Cheesy Organization Names (see: Chuck). If they really want to do it right, they should try to get random cameos during a few episodes with some superheroes. I stressed a few episodes, because if you do it too much, it ends up being more of a superhero-of-the-week show rather than being about SHIELD. However, SHIELD interacts directly with a lot of the heroes, so it would be weird to never see them.

Chuck was a cheesy show. I really thought the names were intentionally cheesy.

I agree that Chuck was a cheesy show. While the silly plots don't bother me, the sophomoric use of organization names that would be considered too lame for cartoons just bugs me. Although, the whole Volkoff thing didn't bother me, because it was named after the dude. That makes sense! "We're called Fulcrum!" "Why?" "Um... because it sounds cool and menacing!" "Because you're a pivot point for a lever?" "...exactly!!"

I also really hate when video games have this crazy desire to give everything some crazy-sounding proper name. I think it was Final Fantasy XIII where I read the back of the box, and was even more confused. I decided to have fun and pull all the proper names from Final Fantasy XIII's Wikipedia page's Setting section:
Gran Pulse
Pulse
Cocoon
Sanctum
fal'Cie
l'Cie
"Focus"
Cie'th
War of Transgression
Guardian Corps
PSICOM

I tried to do the same for Final Fantasy IV and VI, but I couldn't really find a proper back story. There's stuff listed for those games, but most of that stuff is revealed during the game. All you have to know about FFVI is there used to be magic (no fancy name), there's an empire (that pretty much is its name...), lead by Emperor Gestahl and his general Kefka (two of the main antagonists). There are magical beings known as espers (fancy name).

Such simplicity... it's beautiful. :'(

"Once Upon a Time in Wonderland" - the hell?

"Once Upon a Time" has been to Wonderland 2 or 3 times... I hope it's not a spin-off.

I still don't watch Castle, but it's good to see Nathan Fillion on a successful, long running show. Summer Glau... Damn, I love her, but... Damn.

Ho.Ly. Shit.

Once Upon a Time in Wonderland is a spin-off series, and it looks amazing:

Low expectations on the CGI because it looks the exact same as the stuff used in Once Upon a Time, but the tone seems a lot darker and more serious.

And the SHIELD thing is a Joss Whedon series. We'll see how long that lasts.
