No they do, but this just sounds like something an American car would have happen to it.

100 miles! get a hold of GM corporate, the dealer might not give you warranty but head office can authorize it

From what I gather, GM is actually pretty good at taking care of the customer once you actually give them a call.
Dealers may sell GM products but don't confuse Dealerships with GM itself.
Real curious to see how corporate handles it.
